2. I'm not going to advertize bloated hardware for capitalist pigs.
something always felt wrong while doing stopmotion/animations. thanks to alone_coder i realized now that the strange fealing i had was because i was stealing the great name of demoscene! i shall only code now.
@v3nom: Yeah, let's stop this unholy sins! Let us do stopmotion in realtime. Hope the evoke-visitors don't mind when my entry lasts for severel weeks at one frame per hour.
gaspode: simply call it "interactive demo" then
i think evoke even has a compo for that!
@v3nom: Great idea. Let us provide a table, some origami-paper (or something else) and a camera and do a »interactive demo«-entry. :) And them submit the result at Animation-Compo. A win-win-situation.
yes! demosceners who do animations should fuck off to Disney or Pixar!!! ;)
Yeah, grab your torches and pitchforks and chase the witches/wizards out of the demoscene-village!!!

I think every platform has people like that.
So, yeah, don't judge the whole community from what one dude says :)
Ok, good point, I feel better now :)
Would be a shame for such a cool machine!
Hey Alone_Coder, if animations are bad then aren't converted images just as bad?
pictures are animations that dont move!
demos are just pictures that do move!
pictures is new technologies to show!
Alone_Coder: I don't get your point..
get lost.
get lost.
fucking thread-repliers, you are trolls
mh... I may get this completely wrong (didn't do any spectrum coding, or animation for that matter), but it seems some compos will show ZX Spectrum entries loading from some mass storage devices (DivIDE or similar). Does that allow incredibly fast load times and storage space, which would make it easy to load a lot of data from it at several places in the demo, and thus make animations look ok ? Would running the same demo from tape or disk lead to very boring loading times all the way during the demo ? If so, then it's as lame as on PC, or at least I'd like to get this clear when I watch the demos, so I can compare things that actually run on the same platform.

On ZX Spectrum (don't know about C-64) there are a lot of demos fileld with animation instead of effects. The authors are saying that's for design.
I can't agree.
animations killed demoscene!
coma: paimen
mfx: within minutes (actually... considering it's mfx, i'm not sure anymore if it is animation)
orange: megablast
halcyon & da jormas: saint
had several others in my mind but forgot while finding urls
bulba: you suck. next time make an animation.
@Maali: Stills are the new animations!
I think zoom summed it up neatly a few threads ago:
Wow. I'm impressed.
This thread took 3 pages to become the usual Pouet-mishmash of Pony
pictures, personal insults, trying-to-be-funny-but-failing-utterly comments and digging in each other's previous productions.
I would have expected that to happen on page 2.

Calm down everyone, let's not forget that we are dealing with a fucking undead zombie horse here.
