Look. I get it. You enjoy looking at tits.

I neither said nor suggested anything of the sort, did I? If my third point wasn't clear, I thought "Space Tits" was a cheap ploy to appeal to a horny teen male crowd.

I am not defending objectification or offensive images. But aren't there plenty of demos on Pouet with such content? Should they get deleted?

Gargaj, as administrator, you're certainly entitled to delete or mark as "residue" whatever you deem offensive or disrespectful, and you have been doing a fine job of that. But I feel you're not obligated to do so.

And yes, I do believe there is a line to be crossed. Images with personal attacks, or clearly hateful toward a certain race, gender, religion, or orientation. Child porn, bestiality, etc - things most of society can agree with. But the image in question, including if it was an ejaculating penis like what was already shown, is merely juvenile and crude.. IMHO.

Wow, this is some serious strange discussions going on here. What I don't get is how somehow I got people completely out of the blue calling me "neo-nazi" and "racist" and whatnot.
I don't know where these completely baseless accusations originated in, my guess is that I used two non-european examples of oppression of women to try and make a point.
Fine, let me us a western example instead:
In my opinion, the fact that the US have piss-poor laws regarding maternity leave for women is an issue that I think is important and a threat to the well-being of women. Logos on Pouet is far, FAR further down that list, and at least not to me an issue of great importance.

sdw. atleast show some guts and stop denying you are a racist. since you vote for SD and hang around avpixlat there is no point of you denying it, even though your previous comments already made it cristal clear for everyone, except maybe yourself.

dubmood: What the hell are you on about? You don't even know me, or my political affiliation, I don't think we've ever met.

If you think that someone drawing a logo of pixel tits is "oppression" - then you must have your head so far up the leftist-feminist-wine-sipping-culture-"elite" ass that it's hard for you to hear the real world.

Oppression is when taliban throw acid at girls trying to learn in school, or when islam immigrant fathers throw their daughters of the balcony for daring to date a western boy. That's were outrage and speaking up is needed. Someone putting pixels on a screen that resembles a female bodypart, well, sorry, I just can't get worked up over that-.

thats what you wrote two pages back. Did you stop being a nazi since two pages back? thats more or less copypasted from avpixlat.

But nobody is arguing that Pouet logos are going to set the world on fire or will ignite some sort of global social revolution down the line. What we ARE arguing is that if that objectification _is_ a phenomenon (which it is), and there _are_ signs of it within the scene (which there are), then no doubt it's gonna have some detrimental effect down the line, especially if it's displayed on the top of the most popular / representative demoscene website and discussion forum.

I mean if nothing else, ask yourself this: What's the (active) gender ratio on Pouet, and are you okay with it?

I seriously don't get what you are trying to say. Let me try to distill what I'm trying to say without examples to avoid misunderstandings:

Violence, physical and psychical, trying to deny an education, placing less worth with and so on towards women is wrong, and a very serious issue around the world.

To me, things like tits in logos and for example "sexy" advertising and so on, to me is not such a big issue, and that's why I put in a little jab at the leftist-culture people, as they often try make big headlines of such issues, while to me there are more important ones.

No racial or "nazi" or whatever meanings in what I'm trying to say, OK?

The above post was directed at dubmood, not Gargaj. To clarify.

I think Sdw was too occupied blaming everything on the immigrants, muslims and cultural marxism left feminist elitists to ask himself that gargaj...

confuse anti-sexism with exteme feminism, call that opinion leftist, which individuals see as rather normal and neutral, and you will appear standing in the rightish corner. mix that view with agitation from insult and you will be called a neo-nazi.

Gargaj: Yes, surely more women in the scene would be nice. Or more new blood in general.
If there is a feeling that a tit-logo on Pouet is detrimental to that cause, by all means remove it.
I was more turned against people calling it "oppression", I surely don't think oppression of women was what the guy painting the logo had in mind.

no one has oppression in mind

its not wrong to call it overly politically correct, when see a picture of boobs on the front page as reason for groping at parties, while the call for ban of alcohol at parties would but gain a faint cough. thats simply because alcoholism has much broader social acceptance (i dont mean the medical term). thats hypocrizm, when people even try to legitamate that. not pointed at anyone personal, more a generalisation over half the thread as i see fit ;)

what vectory said + add an example how evil muslims are to the equation and you got it.

Surely we can forgive Dubmood his idiosyncratic "mild exaggeration" of terms, and instead focus on what the whole discussion was about in the first place? :)

I'm not going to read most of this thread. All I have to say is over accept for one thing. Society tells women that their bodies are not their own. This picture was a reminder of that. end of thread for me.

You might be onto something there. Well, I am probably a bit to the right on the political scale compared to many Poueters. Still, the jump from "moderate right" to neonazi is huuuuuge. I hope that people understand that and don't take Dubmoods statements as fact.

LOL is she trying to be "one of the guys" now by taking part in the trolling?
Sdw: As best I can tell, JuvenileShithead is dubmood's troll account. You'd best ignore it. I'll add that I used to feel somewhat like some of the people in this thread, before I chose to educate myself a bit. It turns out it's actually not that hard to understand. I suggest you try, since it seems you do care on some level.

Um, yeah. Such word use takes some time getting used to. Arguing about it will get you nowhere.
