Analogue: no, you haven't, and the fact that you think you have is troubling at best. So again: please see this specific post (yeah, see, I can link to specific posts now - guess who implemented that feature?) and answer all my questions. If you do that in a satisfactory way, I promise to stop asking them.

Copy/paste-error on my end - this post.

Can you sum up the questions ? I really don't see much question mark there

This is a waste of everyone's time but okay:
- I have my own SSH account on Nova (the Pouet server), but that doesn't have privileges to touch the Pouet dir.
- The Pouet SSH / SQL passwords don't work anymore.
- I still have the Pouet admin level which allows me to gloperate prods and delete a few things but nothing more. I couldn't touch e.g. the new code or any of the content.
- I got an invitation (yesterday) to the Github repo to the old code, but I left it because I no longer care about it.
- I never ever shared the Pouet credentials or implied such. Whoever else had (if at all) it was not my doing.

superadmin: It's surely not the best way to handle this, but it happened, again if I was scared of garg I would have moved the files elsewhere.

Now u can see it the way you want, it's just what it was, and if you don't like the truth, I can't really change it.

Gargaj: The github repo pushes automatically to scene.org, you can surely do whatever you want with this.

Github does not tell me who accepts or refuse admin rights, I did not know u refused.

invited u again

Analogue: since you seem to have trouble distilling the questions (which is an ominous sign, I must say), then fine -- here they are:

- Why did you not share the credentials with the people who you knew had access? (you said you didn't know who knew the credentials)

- Do you actively just filter out the negative reactions to your actions?

- Do you plan to move Pouet from the Scene.org hosting?

Because I thought Garg would have asked if he needed them as I saw his account on the server and is part of scene.org. Since then, I figured it was useless as we could use github for this.

- Do you actively just filter out the negative reactions to your actions?

No.

- Do you plan to move Pouet from the Scene.org hosting?

I never did, I even said that I trusted them a lot somewhere in this thread.

YOUR plan has always been the same. And by "always" I mean "since when YOU first told everyone else, a few days ago".

Does any of this feel even remotely bad/odd/off to you? Because when people like IQ say they want to delete their Pouet account, alarm bells should start to go off in your head.

Have they?

I'd also like to repeat this, which of course you haven't commented on:

Quote:
See, here's an analogy for you: two people have a car together. They both have the keys and use the car as they see fit. It works out well for the both of them, until one day, when one of the guys takes the other guy's keys.

"Hey, what gives? Now I can't use the car!"

"Sure you can, I see you have a crowbar there - I can't stop you from using the car"

Do you understand the difference between "here, let's share the access and work together" and "you can break in at any time if you really want to"?

Again, I told it 1 year ago to the mailing list. What changed a few days ago is that OSS was not an option anymore.

Of course I feel bad about the reaction, as the intention is just to make sure pouet lasts and evolves without whatever the scene needs.

Wow. That's a serious clusterfuck.

Recommendation of the day to analogue: Stop it, you seem to be the kind of guy who can turn a already top notch serious clusterfuck into something even worse. Seemingly you found a pretty good way of "how to not make friends". If I were you - I would GTFO ASAP.
Luckily I don't tend to cause clusterfucks - I prefer coding intros instead.

Analogy does not apply, as I've read unknown people had the keys too.

I could have broken the account anytime for 13 years too, and I never did, even when things I was not agreeing with happened.

analogue: One thing I fail to understand is why you keep stating that Gargaj is happily invited to contribute to Pouet.

I can't look into Gargaj's mind, but to me, having my login credentials changed without good reason or prior notice, after I took care of the site for years, would be a huge kick in the groin. How you meant it doesn't matter, it's how the action is being perceived at the receiving end.

I, in Gargaj's position, would not be very inclined to ever give you a hand again after that.

OTOH, if you want Gargaj to contribute again, might I suggest apologizing to him and talking the issue through with him personally? I.e. face to face, via video chat or by phone, in order of decreasing preference.

That wasn't the point (I guess; sorry to Gloom if it was); the point was how it felt to Gargaj. Sticking with the analogy, you could just as well have exchanged the locks and handed new keys out to Gargaj. You didn't, and to the observer, that feels like a display of serious distrust in the best case, and hostile takeover in the worst.

Again, I'm not accusing you of anything, I'm trying to tell you how your actions look to bystanders.

If that impression is incorrect, it might be time to correct it by changing your course of action.

Am I the only one who senses a slightly autistic inability to even accept the existence of outside viewpoints here?

mog, leia: how can we help Gargaj with 2.0 when it's closed and private?
I simply asked him.

Given mog's posts, I did not want to take the time to ask.

dojoe: I understand, I'm reading all this, and I worked all night to give back Gargaj the independance he had, only hopping that it would help.

You keep saying this, but have yet to provide any details at all. "I heard that.." is actually not proof or grounds for anything. And the analogy does apply, because if you were afraid either of your keys had been copied by a 3rd party that was not authorized to use the car, you would simply have made two new keys. You didn't. You made one - for yourself.

The analogy stands, and so does your dickish, unexplained actions.

[/uote]I could have broken the account anytime for 13 years too, and I never did, even when things I was not agreeing with happened.[/quote]This is both completely irrelevant and also a logical fallacy cliché so old and stupid I can't even believe you're trying to argue in this way.

What on earth do you mean - "given Mog's post"? He said he asked to be able to help, and he was allowed. What on earth about that constitutes a "ticking bomb scenario" where you just HAD to quickly lock everyone out?
