i'm waiting to see if anyone is organizing any scener bustrip, if so i guess i'll need a visa like everyone else. else i'll take a look at ferry prices for those dates.

just looked around.
cheaper ferries i could find (180 euros) are only for staying 1 day. not that nice. but atleast you dont need visa.
travelling by train on the fast train is about same price, on the slow train it seems there aren't any available to go, only to return, which is odd. now they are having a sale, 25€, shame it doesnt last till august.
so i guess cheapest option is really the bus. would be nicer if it was a scene bus though. hope folks can organize one.

at chepest you can get a ferry for like 20-30euros, if they happen to have some discounts. but, that's still staying for only one day, don't know how they would react at the border if you stay for longer and then take train or bus back.. probably not well

coming on ferry and then travelling without visa past the allowed day is a bad idea indeed. let's not do that )

randomi, i'll meet my russian industrial/noise contacts this weekend so i'll know more about a possibility of a concert there after that.

passport and valid visa might not be enough if there happens to be g8 meeting in spb and you look a bit weird for the border guards, on my experience :D

me and hunter were stopped at customs in frankfurt and security guard had to be explained what demoparty is, because he's had heard "demonstration" the first time.

We experienced this when traveling back to the UK, regarding the reaction by UK Customs to the word 'demoparty' which - to non-sceners, unfortunately sounds a bit like you're about to or trying to overthrow the government or you're affiliated to Al-Qaeda or some shit like that ...

Now, we use the phrase 'digital arts festival' to describe a demoparty to non-sceners, particularly those in official positions of power. Food for thought, eh .....

i really wanna book tickets from Spb to Berlin too, but I just have to be sure with my vacation... =(
so many interesting things going on in August (and then in September, too, btw), that i'm starting to think to quite the job by then =P

We are pleased to announce location for chaos constructions this year - it's club A2 (http://a2.fm) at Prospekt Medikov, 3A. Situated in Petrogradskiy district of St.Petersburg, this club is bigger and better than last year. Keep in mind that party will take place in two and a half months, on 10th and 11th of August.

Submitted my visa application this weekend (through an agency that handles the invitation letter stuff), so I'm at the point of no return now :-) (or, at least, the point where turning back would be an annoying waste of money)

Just hanging on for the details of the possible trip from Helsinki, so I can work out which days I need to book hotels...
