I want to learn tracking

category: music [glöplog]
Oh, let's go to the good old enumerations of all people using trackers and who got signed and blablabla. Oh yes, once again :)
The ones I can recommend the most are:
- OpenMPT (traditionnal tracker but supports VST, Coda uses this)
- Renoise (based around VST support, no output to traditional formats)

Second tier:
- Schism Tracker (impulse tracker clone)
- Chibitracker (also impulse tracker clone, Reduz uses this)
- Impulse Tracker (I use this one, but it needs Win9x - DOSBOX sucks)

Specialized trackers:
- Famitracker (NES, kinda iffy, MPT+NSF converter might be better)
- Adlib Tracker 2 (Adlib/Opl3 for FM music on PC, needs DOS)

to learn tracking you need also knowlege about music composing and have an ear for good harmonies. music is music. Even on trackers... good luck.

No actually, considering what I've heard, nope.
He can start tracking, make songs, whatever that does blipblop for the fun, not for the appreciation. Scene appreciation is for those who lack love and love is what make you make music. (I won an award, right here, right now, not telling which one)
