I am in different organizer teams which use the power of wikis additional to emaillists - this is more productive than a normal website or a forum could be.

I had never previously heard of this "wikipedia" thing until radman began posting about it here on pouet.net. And now that I have learned of its existance, I just don't care.

I think some people missed the point and concern of my original comment.

Wikipedia is an excellent source to find information on obscure material and subject matters.

I could care less about those vanity pages for Spinsane (or myself for that matter) -- but on the other hand there are A METRIC TON of articles written up about various scene groups, some large, some small, on Wikipedia which are very easily at jeapordy of being deleted.

For example: I started one last week for Alpha Design. Using the measurement that some Wikipedia "deleters" are using, easily 1/2 of the Wikipedia would be wiped out. That is a huge loss of information, some of which may be (and IS) invaluable.

So if you mistook this for a plea for help, you're wrong. This was just a wakeup call for those of you who have sunk in and invested hours of time into the Wikipedia community.
