This seems to be a team based music / video competition using the formats BMS/BGA. The formats seem vaguely related to the Touhou project?

Ah no BMS is related to Bemani / Beatmania games.

These are the results that handed down to Japan a long time ago, demoscene of Europe was greatly altered.
Hobby computer AMIGA like there were in Japan. (MSX... etc)
However, advanced programmers associated with it, was death from overwork by tightly coupled to the game industry.
Until now, it has been classified as a sub-culture of MUSIC Composer and game genre.
I believe that it is a good work group.
However, the Japanese people, this area is a minor.
Before they disappear, I wanted to see MAINSTREAM. :(

Yes. This is a BMS.
ModPlug deployment in Japan ended in failure.
Failed a technical problem as well (compatibility Soundfont2) BMSv2 from BMSver1.
BMS still is of type (ver1), this is BMS/BM98.

About the visual.
In Japan, in this culture is dead programmer.
Thus, the conflict between the programmer and the music composer is happening.
Macromedia / FLASH, was to subsidize the Party and Award in Japan in the past.
Thus, a large amount of FLASH technology was leaked.
Due to the over representation, Sprite / Partical and Vector, Caption does the excess.
Of course, Anime ...

Extremely cool stuff. So, is this realtime or animations?

Those are seriously cool!

My guess is that most of them are made by 3d artists. It would be wild that in a single event in Japan where the demoscene is still at it's infancy, suddenly some unknown artists making 10s of realtime demos that are all so well polished and massive.

So the issue is that these could be potential artists for japanische demo shock, although creating the same presentation by means of coding instead of using rendering apps could take much more work and so it's avoided? (at least that's what I understand by clipout's broken english :)

the demoscene is not the only real-time animation scene in the world.
Serious demo potential in there. It's like a demo competition with focus on the soundtrack and the accompanying visuals.
