but i guess dictionaries from overseas are bigger experts in english then the english ones.

how silly of us europeans to assume english dictionaries are more correct then american, pardon, pan-american ones.

My Longman says "especially technical connected with the continent of North and South America: a species found only in American rivers, especially in Brazil."
does that mean it will fight for ps, thom or just itself?

the first thing my swedish dictionary says about "amerikan" (american in swedish, duh) is that it's a person from north or south america.
i bet that most european languages have this deffenition, perhapes this is the answer!!! the american english meaning of "american" is another then the one in most (or all?) of the european languages???!?!?!?!???
but have and when did this happen? canadians (or atleast one of them) obviously also use the american model but what do the people in south america say?

isn't it easier to just start refering to all people from that continent als 'overseanians' ? saves a lot of trouble.

b) the kind of people who thinks ruining others for their own fortune is quite ok

Note that I still regard some americans as very nice people and would never dream of holding my definitions against them.
