Flying to MAiN tomorrow - Meaty would want us to keep on partying, so we shall. Best way to remember him is to celebrate his life, not to be lost in sadness.
Great advice Jenni :-)
And RIP to Meaty, may his quizzes crack heaven up in laughter!
may we all eat hot chilli coated pringles in his honour
Cause of death yet undetermined. He was recently in hospital being treated for stomach ulcer, and due to nurse's error caught an infection. He got already out of there and was getting better... that's why this comes as such a shock for all of us.
jenni: Even more disturbing. :(
Rest in peace matey, you gave us a lot of fun - hosting the quizzes over the years. We were in stitches watching your quiz at Revision 2012 - even though we were watching on the stream at the time.
It was good to meet you a couple of Sundowns ago - I recall when you could smell something like plastic burning & we were checking our table areas like crazy bearing in mind we had a number of retro systems in operation at that point. Good times were had by us with you & we'll see you again when we get to the other side.

Really made me feel blue, rest in peace...

RIP :(
I hope he will find a lot of led-berries where he is now :'(
Tomorrow I will celebrate his life with others who have also had the good fortune to have known Meaty over the years, but tonight I feel lost in sadness.
Ah shit, sad news indeed :(
:(
Dear Giles.
I've been waiting for hours to be allowed to say this in public.
I miss you.
I miss the nightly facebook chat ramblings about British comedy.
I miss the happiness about being a part of Approximate and the things you did, especially after Revision.
I miss the disbelief about how people knew more about countries of the world than prime numbers.
I miss hearing about all the things you wanted to do with the quiz.
I miss a lot of other things too..

Very sad news - and far too young :(
I'm really going to miss that silly bugger... =(
Never forget: if you were to die tomorrow and you could tell people 2 things, first of which is party like there's no tomorrow and second of which is sit around and be sad all the time?
I guess any sane person would opt for the first. This doesn't rule out grief, but it's an important thing to keep in the back of your mind. Perhaps the best way to honor someone is to have fun, share fun anecdotes and not let your fun be ruined by his or her passing.

I just enjoyed Gaia Machina once again.

I only just found out. Giles mate you.re gonna be missed more than you ever knew. #ukscene will never be the same :'( Love you man.
I'm shocked that such a great guy could leave us. I met him way back at Breakpoint 2003 (just knew him as Giles back then), when he was one of the only others who stayed at our hotel (Krone). Since then, I've mostly seen him through BP/Revision and Assembly party streams. :) He injected some good fun into the scene. I will have to enjoy Gaia Machina in his hono(u)r. Condolences to his family and loved ones.
Damnit.. is there at least a big demoparty in the sky we can all reunite at someday?

I didn't knew him very much (I met him at breakpoint 2009) but I remember that he was a great guy with lots of ideas. Very sad news indeed.
