Demos made with tools like ZGameEditor

Hey, just do demos with whatever you want to! I've made a bunch of stuff with CoolBasic that's only been released on some remote islands of the internet, not a lot of people will see it and it isn't "cool", but pushing the limits of the "platform" and generally making demos is a lot of fun - you don't have to be on the center of the stage to enjoy it :)
Thanks for your kind words! I've already started to code it and if I can resolve some troubles I have with shaders, demo may land by Friday 21st!

In the same vein I've never heard of ZGameEditor and I wouldn't known if you've done something simple or something hard in it.
However if it looks good and is fun, synched with music, then it is something other. Let's call it art. It might not push a machine or ZGameEditor, but it might contain goods ideas. I'd go for that.

There is absolutely -no- problem in using something like this to make a demo/intro. A lot of boilerplate is done for you, and you can just focus on writing shaders etc...
Enigma Studio 3 and .werkkzeug are similar tools. Some prods created with .werkkzeug have been down voted for -lack of originality-, not because they used the tool.
Also, ROSE by 4-mat.

On a similar note, many years ago I hated AMOS demos because they weren't as good as "proper" Amiga demos.
Then, I realised that if you think of them in their own category, they can be interesting. Some people can make better effects in pure AMOS than other people, and actually, that can be an interesting technical limitation in its own right, like sizecoding or whatever.
On to the actual topic; do whatever the hell you want.

I find I care little if a demo has been coded in C, C++, AMOS, Pascal, Delphi or whatever. What matters is that there is a demo.
i think it is not important how you did your production. the result is important. and don't forget, that you can always try to extend the boundaries and develop your own style even with a demotool.

Another thing: I see that a few people comment on how good the tool looks... am I the only one who thinks it looks like convoluted shit? :)
i have yet to see a demo making tool that actually looks good. :)
