Dreamhack or Optihack
category: general [glöplog]
There are to LAN:s comming at the westcoast of Sweden. Dreamhack in November and Optihack in January. Which do you think is the most, or at all, demoscene active?
Optihack will take me bak to TCC'93, which also was held at Svenska Mässen in Gothenburg.

Optiwhat? ;-|
i think if you have to choose, dreamhack is the party with most demoscene activity, but.. as we all now dreamhack consists of 95% gamers.. i would rather attend a real demoparty.. like black birdie held in uppsala (blackbirdie.pseudohacker.org/)
judging from the name, optihack sounds so much like demoscene already.
OPTIHACK!
since optihack doesnt even arrange compos (atleast not what i could tell from their website) i doubt you'll find any scene activity there.
dreamhack (winter) still has competitions and a nice scenecrew, but after visiting the party the last few years i don't find those things enough for me to want to visit it again.

yeah.. i realy think it's time to update myself at ojuice.org. but it's great to have a big LAN in the neighbourhood (optihack). i saw that the crew from compushpere would like to take care of the scene-activity at optihack though. then it would be kinda scene related one could hope.
I thought this would have been a joke towards Optimus. ;-) Dreamhack is a old swedish party, never heard of that Optihack thing before.
Jamaica Rom Party is another one with true scene spirit. Don't most parties share the problem that 90% of their visitors are gamers unless they forbid them?
we (the compusphere crew) have been asked to arrange the compos .. and will probably do so, we just have to get off our lazy butts .. ;) but anyhow, if all goes well optihack will kick dreamhacks butt even scenewise!
i am waiting for msg: "and dont forget to come to inerciademoparty2005" :)
ghandy: nope, most don't. gamers prefer to go to lan parties, you know.
"lan-parties" sux, booze rulez
Ghandy: Never heard of Optihack before either. Started last year I think.
Gemini: I really really hope you are true. Looking forward to it.
Shadez: You just got it!
Unlock: True. But where is the big scene-partys with the quality realeses? A problem in Sweden I think.
Quisten: Kinda two different things there

Quisten: sorry... booze is great...
superfrog: it's not that every country needs it's own big party. go to breakpoint, assembly, .. these are big parties. people often prefer smaller ones anyway and the large two (asm and bp) are just duty ;-)
err yeh, off for Function now ;-)
500 SEK is bloody expensive though... no discount for people that doesn't need any computer place?
aleen: well, not this year. might be another thing next year, if things goes well. we just didnt have enough time to fix that this year :/
Hmm, TCC '93, does anyone knows what happend to Remix? I don't know him but after reading a party report I'm quite interested.
gemini. technically the party is next year :) now go fix a discount.. heh
aleen: well technically i didnt say 2004 but i said this year, and since the event will take place next year i might as well have meant 2005 .. in any case, i'd love to fix the discount but it's too late now.
It's nevarrrr too late. I was pretty shocked about 54 Euros, but since I'm a party-organizer and involved in some financial things I know it's sometimes hard to find sponsors. Don't give up man!
