breaking news: 64k category killed, dancers happy
category: parties [glöplog]
pouet is killing the scene
why?
Completely skimming over the last nine pages and returning to the 'Dancers happy' part of the headline, any productions for Assembly will now include the following?
A big fish.
A little fish.
And a cardboard box.....

as the scene seems to be dead.. why should we make a new issue?
Is this the last one?

magic, has there ever been a demand for new issue of hugi?
Nosfe is right, I asked for hugs only.
someone should report that hugi prod page as spam.
Nosfe: demand no. Looking out for a new issue, wanting a new issue etc. yes. but WOW didnt took Maali long to troll here :)
There probably never was a demand for a next issue as do I doubt there will ever be a last one either ;-)
Punq: nothing lasts forever.. even on the demoscene. Why your doubt? :)

I think you'll find that that question ought to be a fundamental one, no matter the state of the scene.why should we make a new issue?
This thread is now about Magic and Hugi. Which, surprisingly, isn't that much of a decline.
I think they killed 64k to strike rez, those bastards.
Back to the topic: less 64's in general of the last few years , no 64kb intro compo assembly, state of scene, amount of releases getting less, quality of releases getting less, sceners are getting older and doing less to nothing anymore. Process cant be stopped imho. (Though I wish I would have a magic staff and could change it this instant)
an other day, an other nordic conspiracy.

you really think we need parties to release prods?

New sceners are out there, we just have to find them. Working on that myself . . .
gargaj: No, he's really not that clever.
magic: Again you shine by your lack of social abilities, and pollute an interesting discussion with spam for hugi, which btw is completely out of topic, and then you blame maali for trolling. Look who's speaking. And I just couldn't resist feeding you, so here you go, take your pound of flesh.
And to counter your in-topic argument, there ARE new faces in the demoscene, it's called evolution and not extinction. Old groups die, new groups come. That's life. If you can't see that, then you should simply open your eyes.

Pretty bad examples though. Still is a horde of veterans, and the other 2 are ~6 years old. Quite would fit the bill a bit better though.
tomaes: Youth Uprising didn't really do much until NVScene 2008, so it would be more correct to call them 4 years old.. and 4 years is really young in the demoscene sense. I would definitively call them a new group, even though they weren't formed this year.
Why kill such a category? Most of the nice demos are 64k anyway. And 128b, 256b, 1k, 4k is not nice. I can't run tiny demos on my PC, and most of them don't even show amusing things.
AMUSE ME OR ELSE!
