The staff also has a tendency to just answer "Yes" to any question they get, even though they don't know the answer. This resulted in me, running very hungry and needing to pee, into a closed area because I was assured there was food for purchase and toilets in there. There weren't.

I'd put up with Wizz and Iceland Express again, but Dr Claw has longer legs and had a more miserable experience.

I'm 6ft10 and have had no problems whatsoever with legspace on WizzAir flights (I do pay the €5 extra for seats next to the emergency exit tho).

So far, my best flying experiences has been with Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
I have a TERRIBLE time believing you had a good experience with Virgin Atlantic. I flew with them coming to europe last year for TG/moving and between missing the first flight because they closed the check-in 50 minutes before take-off and having to pay to reschedule and maintenance problems with the rebooked flight, I was 3 days late.

On Wizz Air:
Dr Claw also took issue with the scramble for seats that made it feel like a bus ride in rush hour.

On CDG:
Good to know. I won't route other people through there. My French is still awful and I have a pronounced Quebec/Anglo accent, but I suspect having some knowledge might lead to an easier time.

co-flights with SAS, avoid, noted.

I'll note for anyone traveling from Europe and looking to save money that you could fly into NYC and then take a train or bus up here. Four hour drive, slightly longer bus and train.

At this point, we have two strongly likely visitors coming from Europe. I hope for more.

actually, one confirmed, one strongly likely.
Virgin Atlantic is "the virgin group way". You dont even get any drinks on the plane, there is a water fountain you can cuddle around.. *but* it gets you transported across the ocean quite cheap. So if you dont need any pampering at 30.000 feet, this is not THAT bad actually.

CDG is a huge airport and is organized the french bureaucratic way - meaning you need a PHD to figure it out. Yes it gets complicated and yes transfers between terminals will take you ages - but then its the same at say FRA or LHR. Give yourself 3 hours at least between flights when transferring and you are safe.

Yay! Thank you for joining us Rowley!

So that's three visitors from Europe . . . so far. : D

If you'll be at Revision, come find me for a maple candy. ( :
Thank you for organising, if there's anything I can do to help just let me know :) I heard Ziphoid's also planning to go, but not sure who's the third Eurotrash visitor (perhaps Franky found an affordable hotel after all?). And ofcourse I'll be at Revision, stealing ur candies- that is, if I can find a taxi driver that takes me to my hotel instead of driving away real fast as soon as I start talking to them :)

Luis: Being a demoscener attending a "Boston Demoscene Party" and then sleeping in a sailing ship sounds risqué to me, especially considering the almost 250 years of tradition Bostonians have when it comes to emptying out the contents of aforementioned type of ship in their harbours. So I'm staying on shore matey :)

interesting use of the word risqué there . . . usually means something else over here : D
I know ;)

I assumed so . . . but was puzzled by your usage.
Avast! There will be no tea-bagging at Liberty ship Clipper. Only during the party.
meh, its going to be too hot to drink tea. I mean, somebody could make iced tea, but I'm not.

: D

*contrary is contrary*
