This was most definitely not filmed at night. Just like most/all night scenes in movies and tv are actually shot in broad daylight for practical purposes.
"Broad daylight" implies sunlight, which means shadows. Day-for-night is (ideally) done under overcast skies.
I'm not sure this was shot in daylight.. Look at how the lights on his suit light up the trees and snow.. that would be near impossible in the daylight..
Mhhm, yes, not day-for-night then. Some of the footage still looks almost inverted (black suit/white snow) though. But maybe that was the effect they were going for.
tomaes: light from the suit casts shadows from the trees - ergo the suit must be the light source - or have a light source (I had the same idea as you, when I saw the first frames ;) )

i saw this a few times over the last days and i never thought it was supposed to be night, my brain read it as some sort of postprocess infrared weird inverted temperature map. it doesn't look like night. i don't think it even pretends to be night. does it?
It's supposed to be night. Stars and the Moon were deleted in post to make it more eerie looking. (see: footage that was shot in a water tank, but you can't see any air bubbles)
To be clear: This can be faked in a variety of ways (including doing the lighting/shadows in post production). But all the ways I can think of, are either too expensive, time consuming or impractical for the small credited crew. So yeah, I think it was shot in the dark (or rather early morning / late evening) with a white LED suit. :)

I guess that being part of the demo-scene makes you think "how did they cheat to get that effect going?" quite fast ;)
Btw, as a fellow snowboarder, might I just add that it takes serious balls to go through the woods in pure daylight too :-)
