new demoparty year's resolution

category: offtopic [glöplog]
i heard a great quote the other day about inspiration and motivation, it translates into something in the lines of
"when inspiration comes, i will be working" or
"when inspiration does come, it will catch me hard at work"

meaning that waiting for inspiration before starting something usually gets you nowhere fast, you need to be in the middle of something important for it to be any useful and bare some fruits.

well, i brought a 4k to every demoparty i visited since 2007.
i even skipped tUM2010 due to having a bug in my 4k, tried to fix it an additional (party-)day and ditched the whole party once i knew i wouldnt fix it in time ;)
lemme tell you this was no good idea at all ;) better visit a party instead of trying to fix sth so you can release sth ;)
also what ps said!
lots of my stuff got reality by just playing around with rendermonkey. once you played enough you get results you like and at that point you are inspirated 100% !

blueberry: deadline-rush = instant creativity. :)

sensenstahl: 100% correct -- the more content and ideas you generate, the better you get at dismissing bad ones early.

instant problem solving, at least, but often in a creative manner :)

well, creativity isn't actually the problem for me - motivation for making it happen is the issue :)

note to one self: if only there was a lot more pr0n in demos...

...more note to one self: pr0n != bad qulity
