And it's a serious issue. Public FTP is not available right now, and the pubftp directories in your home directories will be empty - because that part is unmounted right now.

Ok, the RAID controller is fucked. Replacement is on the way. Hopefully we'll have the system running again tomorrow.

Everything should be back to normal. Please note that the IP address
of ftp.untergrund.net (public ftp) has changed.

Write performance might be degraded for the next 12 hours, as the write cache of the new RAID controller is validated right now.

Hmmm... I can't connect yet to any webpage hosted in undergrund (Try www.untergrund.net or www.chiptune.com) but at least the ftp public download links are working again.

I'm sorry, it looks like just swapping in a new RAID controller didn't help for long - the filesystem is down again.

HTTP is fixed, but FTP is down again, sorry. Working on it. Darn.

It looks like one of the hard drives in the RAID has made the controller blow up. And replacing the controller hasn't helped much.

We are trying to get the RAID to rebuild. But it's not looking too good right now. Worst-case scenario: Data loss -we only backup the main untergrund.net system, files on the public FTP are not backed up.

The FTP will remain down until tomorrow at the minimum.

When I try to download this track the server times out, both when using a browser and an FTP client. Is this supposed to be, or is it a problem on my end?

Yes, after the RAID controller got replaced, the cabling got replaced and after 3 days of RAID rebuilding, 2 drives finally failed. Luckily we were able to fetch a backup before that. Currently the backup is restored to new drives, and the RAID is rebuilding. I hope this is going to finish before the weekend...

When I want to download anything from FTP it asks for username and password! FTP wasn't like that...
