C64 Scenetalk @ CCC
category: offtopic [glöplog]
My sources aka CSDB says there is a c64 demoscene talk here at 21:45 http://saal3.h264.28c3.fem-net.de/lq/
Very interesting, thanks for posting the link.
its up in recorded form here now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0E6WnCeY74
nice talk
Really interesting! Thanks for posting this, I've lately been really interested in the technical aspects of C64 coding.
Just out of curiosity, are there more technical talks like this available, or should I just bribe a c64 coder with beer at Revision?

Codebase64 might be helpful, I guess.
As for talks: 27c3: Reverse Engineering the MOS 6502 CPU and 25c3: The Ultimate Commodore 64 Talk.

not exactly talks, but there are some excellent articles in "C=Hacking" and "DisC=overy" magazines... available at codebase (or elsewhere) :) the math articles by wyndex are a must read imho.
I never knew Ninja would do this. People should put this on a frame, if they had a video capable one.
It was an advertising for the "error 23" demo ;)
I tend to disagree.
Preacher: what tomaes said. Michael Steil's talk are very good.
This was very interesting to watch. Also nice to see the 95%-ish version of Error23. Looks like you guys made a few nice little improvements on it (:
@ninja: nice talk dude. i hope oswald haven't gone mad about the final parts (subversion, makefiles, git etc.). ;)
@cryer: what would you expect? should Ninja talk about someone else's demo's behind the scenes? if so, how? :)

Where is the talk where that freedirectional tunnel is explained? :)
the freedir tunel is basically a fix 2d lookup map rotated and scrolled around. :) it's not easy that way either tho.
Great talk! Not that I learned anything new of course. :) Well, actually I might have.
its a great tutorial by blackaxe/kolor explaining freedir...
It was very insightful for me :) Thanks Ninja!
I was there :) cheers Ninja
rudi: Yes, I'm sure that's exactly what he meant. Now you can go and implement the techniques from that tutorial efficiently on a c64...
Haha, the A.R.B. is still alive. :D
Is there a final video since this one isn't official and probably broken? ;)
broken how? bad encoding? same thing? anyway the official final videos of the 28c3 in many formats for your pleasure
