MindCandy 3 completed! and ready to preorder
category: general [glöplog]
Trixter: I meant no offense, it's just that compared to movie commentaries, the demo commentaries I have heard have all been very jokey. Listening to someone explain "the deep philosophical meaning behind rotating objects made while intoxicated" isn't anything more than entertainment -- as it should be :)
Trixter: I was just thinking some days ago about asking whether you'd have interest in helping to bag a certain way overdue DVD release ;)
gloom: next time you and i should provide commentaries!
pure quality, thank you!
maali: I think that would just strengthen my point above ;)
It arrived today, shipping in only three days from Germany to Sweden. The only word I can think of after watching it all the way through is "Wow!". Congratulations to everyone involved! Tomorrow I will watch it again, with the commentaries.
Got my copy today as well. Very nice and congrats on finally finishing it.
Ordered mine, now I just need that damn Blu-ray player. ;)
cce, it comes with ordinary DVD too. Or are you hungering for the BluRay experience? : D
Larger batch on the way to Hungary for futher distribution as well.
Also, now that finally most of the stuff is contemporary, I wonder if I should get the booklet signed by the respective people :D

Ordered... now I need a blu-ray player, I guess
Got it and it looks great. I reckon this will accelerate my decision to replace the old CRT with a HD flat-screen.
I've just seen Elevated at 60hz 720p in 42" HD TV.
It's beautiful!

We need a Video Pouet in the future, to store, and stream rendered demos at FullHD 60hz with a very high bitrate.
And stop using the lame youtube we have now...

what's wrong with capped?
capped and demoscene.tv are nice ones.
But isn't demoscene.tv kinda dead?
Captures at capped and demoscene.tv are not at 60hz, and bitrate is pretty low compared with mindcandy3 bluray.
Sometimes the videos at mindcandy3 bluray are above 40Mbits.

oh the horror, you might even need to watch demos realtime.
I would like to watch demos realtime, if I had a machine with enough CPU/GPU power to watch them at 60hz 720p with no stuttering frame rate.
But no, i just have a laptop with a crap GPU, like most of the people now.

Tomoya: yea, it seems like they've been inactive for a couple of years. pity
Congratulations to everyone involved in making MindCandy 3.
Captures are spectacular, very high quality.
Using 60hz @ 720p was an excellent option.

Mine just arrived too.
Thing is, about two years ago I bought a new laptop and it happened to have blu-ray. I never used it so far but I joked to myself saying that Mindycandy 3 will be the only reason to use the bd-rom. Bad luck, for some reasons my drive doesn't want to read the blu-ray. I don't even have another PC with blu-ray around me or another blu-ray movie to know for sure whether my drive is broken or this copy of Mindcandy has a problem. Arghh!!!
So, it was a good move that a DVD was also included in the package. I have enjoyed watching all the demo with the commentaries (and good that you can still listen to the music and just read the commentaries as subs) and must find some other computer (hopefully it's my drive's fault and not the blu-ray disk) to finally see the intros and some of the talks too.

Found out my problem is that I update my HP laptop from Vista to Windows 7 and now it's a bit hard to find a proper solution that works. Lot's of people are asking for a olution and the stuff I tried so far don't work for some and me. Ugh :P
