RIP Steve Jobs
category: offtopic [glöplog]
I am happy to browse Internet on iPad instead of laptop or desktop.
Also I use GarageBand on iPad to make a sketches, then transfer them to Mac and finish in Logic Pro. I like the Steve's idea to connect mobile applications like iMovie and GarageBand with professional desktop applications like Final Cut and Logic. It is not just compatability or just multiplatform, it is not hard/soft-oriented thing at all. It is user-oriented thing, which makes a different.

Hey, change "the creator" by "inventor"!
Steve Jobs is a person, not a company.
You can hate Apple all you like, but Jobs' death has little bearing on that.

+1 for Chuck Peddle.
In fact, i think even Jack Tramiel would have a word with that poster for including the Apple II, given that the Commodore PET beat it to market by six months. And looked much cooler.

So some rich guy who owned/ran a huge company which produced something that cost up to 3 times its competitors products whilst essentially doing the same thing (ffs ipod, women have been banging on about being able to multi-task for ages and even you can't!) but selling it really well has died from pancreatic cancer. Well now that he's gone I hope that his family spend some of the fucking obscene amount of money he had accrued on paying lots of boffins to find a cure. @ least we know then that his reason for doing so was philanthropic not selfish. Maybe they could also throw a bone to all the really low paid workers who work for a pittance so that his company can sell their product at a shitload of a markup to make a product. That would be when I wish Steve well on his journey down the Styx. Other than that some rich guy died & I'm not in his will, meh.

I like the internet. It gives people who have absolutely no clue or any credible background information the ability to spew rubbish. It's fascinating. :)
I don`t care about who invented the mouse, the GUI, the internet, etc etc.....
I just care about who invented the button, the thing we clueless internet dorks use the most.

As Mr. Gecko said - "Greed is good", just not if you're not going to pay the workers that make your product fairly. That's exploitation.
& yes I am a union member/delegate.
Pasting links to articles about Apple making money proves... what? I fail to see your argument.
Btw, I'm amazed by the people who are still giving the crappy argument of "cost up 3 times its competitor".
A coworkers of mine just bought a Sony laptop of the same type as my MacBook Air and it cost "just" 1000 euros MORE °_°
I don't know why, but Apple haters always what to compare the lowest "no-name-chinese-lowcost" computer to Apple in term of price.
When I want to compare products in term of specs & price, I compare products of the same categories. I think it's just common sense...
Ho and also, people always forgot to mention the OS price, once a time I tried to buy a top notch Alienware M11x on the DELL website, and on of the last unskippable option was "choose an OS", of course Linux was free, but to get the best version of Win7 it was something like 600$ more on the (already enormous) price! :(
