It is what it is. Zazen Meditation, sleep-programming, getting urself into an altered states and developing this thing called "Detached mind" can help to deal with the pain in life.

Nothing is real, all is just an illusion and you are free to create your own reality and generate positive things and ideas...

In all cases dont do anything irrational (too many good soldiers already been lost) were here for you... good day will come again (where you dont need to use AK every day to deal with these fuckers :-))
your choice AK or 4K that crashes more megatons than soon coming Apophis will

Maybe watching daily basis Roast and esp. Gillbert Gottfried and or Jeff Ross can cure cancer:

All those zen-spiritual techniques I listed above take months
of daily practising to get them working effectively. You must
choose to live more harmoniously in a nutshell. In fact if you
do them daily morning and before getting to bed your mind will
enter to the altered state of peaceful of being and the effect lasts.

Additionally what to look for when you are depressed, might be
some cool videogames, for ex. Rage for Win32 comes out in almost
couple of weeks...using OpenGL. It features Mad Max lonely stranger who's
gotta survive, maybe become him, save him.

Alice in WonderLand (Madness Returns) by American McGee is one
game aswell worth to check out (it was released 1 month ago)
for alternative world, be Alice and paint those roses red again in its
hostile world. It's the 2nd game in McGee's Alice-serie the first
one yall remember came sametime as Daikatana and used Quake3 engine
back in 1999, and was awesome.

Finally. To stop depression create yourself something to work on...
preferably years lasting dream-production which you are only alone
in contol and code 1 todo for it __daily__, it'll fast become a complex
software/game/tool and you don't even believe what you've done and
you are motivated each and everyday to make it better and see where
it leads ya!!
christsake, this looks like a dr Phil episode. dunno what's more pathetic.. the whining about depression or the suggested "treatments" ;PPP
Hey, factor6, you could join a demogroup and do some fancy things ;D at least you could release some new music as a guest at moodsplateau.net :D cheers and keep ya head up!

I don't exactly know who you are (I think) but isn't every scener welcome at Revision 2012? About the suicide : it isn't worth the trouble and you might get killed in in the process so I would advice against it.

Depression is a serious thing. So, please, think twice before start making jokes about it.

Thanks to all.

xyz -> I've been to a doctor two years ago. Since then I'm taking the spectacular Citalopram pills every day... All started in my former job, which was full of ignorant idiots and egocentric people. Since then I know I'm not able to work with people and do important decisions. Also, it didn't work together with my calm and loner character. So I changed it. Later then, I quit my relationship, which took for about 10 years. It didn't work. So.. I'm alone now, depressed even though I take medicaments, nothing pushes me to do scene things like composing or coding. It could seem like laziness but it isn't. There are some people around me who understand me, but can't help. The thing I need is not to be alone, being huged and kissed by a person who'd be able to love.

Hm, so, that's it.

I mean, I changed my job, not the characeter...

factor6: life is full of such ups + downs, and it's normal to feel like shit for some time after going through a bunch of bad shit like you just have. Remember that time will heal it, stop worrying about it, and prepare yourself for the inevitable time when you start rising back up again.

Picking up a physical activity will drastically change your level of energy. I know it's close to impossible to even consider starting, but I will guarantee you, that if you somehow manage to exersise two or three times a week - even if it's just a 30 minute walk each time - for a full month, you'll be surprised what your physical health does to your mental health!

Beside the obvious long term health increase, each training session releases an amount of chemicals that the brain interprets as pleasure/stimuli. Being physically tired after training will help you sleep better, which again will increase your mental state during the time you're awake.

Being a nerd, I highly suggest you go out and buy yourself some kind of GPS-device (if you pick up walking, running or cyckling) It'll provide an intellectual approach to training and keeping track of progress how little it may be, will definately help keep you motivated to continue.

Heh, I'm doing Geocaching since 2008... it is really good way how to spend time by doing something for my body and which connects me with nerd things while being outdoor. I also bought inline skates a week ago.. so, yes, I like this kind of things. Anyway, it's still depressionable to do these activities alone.

_docd: I'd say today - Life sux... I just hope it will get better in this.

I have just a feeling that noone does notice my work for scene, I have no feedback. It would be really helpful for me, to hear such kinda positive words, belive me. Maybe it is someting but could be stronger. That's one of aspects I'm depressed and not motivated, too.

Not an unfamiliar feeling, even with a track record you can get isolated. I found no solution over the years, but it's really important to listen to your inner compass and convince yourself that what you're doing is a Good Thing, even if others don't realize (or don't explicitly say they do).

Do not expect too much feedback inside the scene. Try to reach other people if you really need feedback about your stuff.

Make a soundcloud account and post a few tunes. Tag it with demoscene, 8bit, chiptune... and you will find lot of people interested in your music.

By the way, I am sure that Batman has your music as ringtone in his batmobile.
