What was the first demoscene prod you saw?
category: offtopic [glöplog]
Some C64 cracktro in the mid-80s, hard to remember which. One prod that stands out in my memory is the "F#%c SCC" demo by West Coast Crackers. :)
this is embarassing since everyone who meets me seems to think im OLDSK00L, but I saw my first prods at TP 1996 where I was to game like an idiot :) To my great embarassment I do not remember much from that party apart from all the gaming and porn I leeched (I was 16 so bear with me).
The first one I really truly fell in love with was actually 303 by Acme (yeah, the one with the wonderful singing by Vic) - i had that on a burned cdrom with a lot of other stuff and played it over and over again. I still love the singing!

haaa that good old Vic, he was a very a nice guy (and he is still I hope!). I remember he wanted to become professionnal musician but was actually working in a bakery or something like that. I absolutely don't know what happened to him and to others members like aap (who were in 3state later).
ho, and some years before I have seen my first "real" demo (Enigma by Phenomena in 1991) I have seen the famous Juggler somewhere between 1986 and 1988 :)
Some amiga demo from 1988 with standard copperlist effects, can`t remember which one since they all looked the same :)
some c64 demo which basically consisted out of ripped game tunes and the mandatory king tut gold mask...
first "real" production: enigma by phenomena (amiga 500)

Boulder Demo by Tristar in 1988. I just couldn't believe my eyes - it ruled bigtime.
ah now i realised that really the first thing i saw was AMIIIGAAAA
and State of the Art (at the place of pirate friend - sort of the head of
amiga/dos SK warez scene at that time :) but it was not introduced as
underground art but rather a kewl thing to show and promote your
leet piece of hw :)
made deep touch and until now i really want to play with that demo topics.
for that time what a blast :)

Oddly enough...
The first "prod" I saw was bb, the aalib demo. It was just chilling there on a knoppix liveCD, and I ran it.
...Does that count?

Apart from cracktros I quite vividly remember seeing this infamous BASIC animation on my C64 :P. That was probably around 1993.
Gosh, how could I forgot to mention RSI's Megademo.
Saw it first in 1990/91 on D!rt!e's miggy.

Do any of the examples from the ZX Spectrum handbook count?
Oh and for the PC - this

The first thing I saw was the "Unreal" by Future Crew. Can You start any better? :-).
It was shown to be by my schoolmates big brother. Only thing I remembered afterwards was the amazing flying 3D spaceships in the early part. So far I had seen Captain Comic and Commander Keen on a PC, so 3D... WHOA!
There's first time for everything and I guess it's like in love: You really can't beat the "first time". At least what comes to the feeling.
Anyone else seen Unreal as Your first scene product?
