I was actually asked by backlash/mkd how the GPL licenses work, and I advised him to put his werkzeurg-like fxgen thingie (which was only managing textures at the time) on sourceforge, 4 or 5 years ago.
Backlash has no time/will to support it anymore. The new coders of fxgen forked it to a new project, in order to get the rights on it. It's a GPL legal way of passing a project.

God @Sauron. Even if you ask Ryg for betterization, Werkkzeug is a encapsulated tool. Theres' no benefit in figuring out or haxoring files or format descriptions. What you wanna get to work with that hax?? There's nothing better you can PRODUCE with the description you got, than the what the tools was initially wrote for. As long as you don'T change code, you could use the tool as is. really.
