The universe is infinite, thus, everyting exists

As far as I know, most modern mathematicians claim that there is not only one but several different infinite numbers. There are indeed infinitely many infinite numbers. Actually, the number of different infinite numbers ain't the smallest infinite number. So, there are quite a few of them around.

Why try to quantify something that is incomprehensible?

so if I have a machine to open a wormhole, what happens to the wormhole once the machine passes through it?
chock: "Numbers" only in a very loose sense. They're customarily called that, but it's not like you can do any meaningful arithmetic between them.

Well if you don't turn it off won't it just be waiting for you on the other side?
if opening the wormhole is like shining a torch, there is a problem, but if I can open the wormhole any place any time, no problem
Ahh. (Physicists correct me please) If the womrhole is a singularity borne of a super dense gravity well (black holes etc.) then as soon as the machine came close to the gravity well it would physically and relativistically be affected and thru gravity alone it would be destroyed thus destroying the wormhole before it could enter.
I think.
I think.
The Universe may be infinite but that only means that there's an infinite chance that each time there's a possibility that something could exist it won't. In other words an infinite number of noes. "Does the creature in the pic exist here? No." ad infinitum.
The proof that this is true is that we haven't all yet ceased to exist by any number of things you can create from your imagination with incredible capabilities (or possibly that there is an infinite number of things stopping them I suppose...)

Look at Plank’s constant. People say that's arbitrary, it could not be less arbitrary. If it varied even slightly, life as we know it would not exist. Now, now, let's reconsider the entire argument with entropy reversed and an effect proceeding cause. So, you are thinking of a universe that is not expanding from the center. No, it is retreating from a, from a possibility space. This is a space where we are all essentially Alice through the Looking Glass, standing in front of the Red Queen, and we're being offered a cracker to quench our thirst.
This thread has come to an end, apparently :-)
