the Ultimate Meeting 2010 - Never Stop That Feeling
category: parties [glöplog]
Thought you wrote something like a big modern graphics card, not something 2.5 years old. Well..one thing less to finish before the 24th then ;)
I guess you just need to code something less complex ;-)
do it on amiga instead :D
learn to optimize your code instead of relying on faster hardware =:)
and do it on amiga.

Not faster, just more features, instead of relying on the 4 years old dx10 api. Meaning decent compute shader support (dx10 level support is next to useless) and the ability to plot pixels where I want, not limited to polygons. Sure it *could* be done using geometry shaders or cpu rendering, but that wasn't the point of it. I tend to use procedurals as a playground for new techniques etc.
No big deal anyway, I just expected to release it here, as the compo machine description indicated modern hardware, which I thought included 15 months old dx11.

We'll have a second compo pc with a slightly different setup
Intel Core i7/920, 12 GB RAM, ATI HD 4870 with 512 MB RAM
So - the choice is yours :)

As I won't take a network cable along, I guess it's OK to submit compo entries on USB stick?
You can also bring a wireless LAN if you're more comfortable with that.
@Adok: come on, don't be so half hearted, bring it on 5"1/4 floppy! ;)
@Adok: There will be wlan, and you can use it to upload productions. Just don't expect the wlan to be very fast.
DJefke: But I read somewhere there won't be WLAN...?
The wlan will only be there, if we find the time to set it up. It will (as usual) be not as reliable as the cabled network.
But - even if the wlan fails - I'm sure you'll find someone who is willing to let you upload the entry from their computer.

We're ready now. You can come. It will be good!
Damn, I just stayed up all night, I guess I won't sleep at all or else I'll miss my train :D
I'll come and bring that special competition
going out of the house... in t-4minutes (approx time for getting my PC to the car ;)).
See you there!
I war black stuff and sitting around with the ATW guys... just shout out, if you need help then with the "special compo" ;)
Cheers,
Fen
