off here too...
new threads for every site that is off for some hours aint necessary tho ;)
@bittin: thanks for the link, quite useful!

@hArDy: but, but, what do I do in the mean time then?? My life is in tatters!

Ok smoothstep, focus! Think of the intro you're working on. You can create as well as consume. Breathe in, breathe out. All is well. All is well...

just watch some stuff in REALTIME as intended :p

and if you cant watch the newest stuff due to your hardware not being capable of, just watch some older stuff which is really ace aswell if you know how to pouet/find it ;)

wysiwtf: do it correct atleast:

capped.tv
I know capped.tv, it's great. Of course, demoscene.tv adds the goodness that demos can also be found by competition, not just their name.

@hArDy: of course it's all about realtime, but in this case I was scouting the landscape for fractal and raymarching demo's, and since for many of these my laptop is too slow, and my fast Windows 7 machine too incompatible, the video's are a better choice for a quick scan...

I'll shut up now :-)
demoscene.tv has playlists. feed a beamer/tv screen with dtv and you have an awesome tv channel that can run for hours without repetition.

Dtv also has a lot more stuff, especially older demos

Maybe they got tired of it all after that shitstorm following the release of the iphone app?

So...is DTV dead now?

Also DTV has (used to have?) streams with reasonable bitrates. I hope they're just stone drunk and will replug the cable once the booze effect fades.

Oh, it's mean posting a image macro and deleting the prod in questioN! What did he pull?

the 128-byte .com file was just a text-quote from Albert Einstein: “Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking”, Albert Einstein
the people you see thumbing up on the picture obviously fell for the faux-youtube version :)

Okkie: the guy submitted a 128b .com textfile along with a youtube link actually pointing to another prod. People started voting / thumbing up without ever checking anything, just judging it from a fake youtube link.

Heh, that's actually pretty clever :D

The point of this being? DTV bad, (wasting hours setting up everything to watch a 20 year old demo)|(spending jigabucks for unrealistically fast computer to watch a new demo) good?

Maybe I should put a capture FPS rate on capped.tv, to give people a idea of the actual performance of demos. :)
added on the 2010-09-07 19:38:44 by micksam7 micksam7
you should let users select what cpu/gpu they have and adjust the fps by that :)
@micksam7; all this in 128b? This guy is genious! Where can I leave my thumb?
