quiality of mod playback on Linux
category: general [glöplog]
Hey guys!
All those Linux audio players have built-in mod playback, which includes Audacious and VLC Media Player and Totem.
I have two questions:
1. Does anyone know how accurate mod playback is implemented in those?
2. Is there any specialized mod player for Linux?

cubic player:

Install it with apt-get install opencubicplayer (ubuntu)
Start it with the command "ocp"

the only other somewhat decent replayer was libmodplug.
audacious (which also plays sids and console chip music) at least uses modplug which IIRC is pretty much multi-platform..
thanks fellas!
UADE! Doesn't get much more accurate than emulating the hardware and using the original 68000 playback code!
(UADE= Unix Amiga Delitracker Emulator)

it should say "quiality of playback on Linux"
I use XMP.

They all should use libmodplug, which generally lacks behind OpenMPT in terms of playback quality (nobody backports my code :(), but it's not too shabby.1. Does anyone know how accurate mod playback is implemented in those?
