Weirdly, what most people call IDM is just electronic music to me... I have been called IDM so much that I must put IDM as a tag for my music else people won't even try. Back in 2001, when we were hearing fucked up stuff, we at least knew the guy knew how to program a synth, work with samples etcetc nowadays, it's different.
