I'd actually do it, but some demos just don't run on ATI and booting Windows everytime I want to watch a demo is overkill.

well, instead of paying codec licenses, you could spend money on 3 graphics cards! :D

There are people out there who don't want to waste the space for a pc-tower + monitor in their living-room anymore. Also almost all demos made in the last 5 years have such high graphic-card requirements that they won't work on mid-class laptops.

For these people vid-captures are a god-sent.
