Master System platform ?!?

category: general [glöplog]

i dont remember why i added it as a platform exactly. but i think someone asked for it..
well, its empty.. so can anyone who actually knows where some master system demos/cracktros whatever actually fill it out.. or if its a matter of prods already on pouet database beeing wrongly platform labeled, can you tell me which prods they are.. you know, just so that the platform actually has some content...

that second sentence of mine seems to be slightly severily derranged. but i guess people still got the point.. if you know any master system prods, dump them in pouet or risk seeing the platform poof, which would suck.

Well, i know one master system demo created by the swedish group Comic Bakery. It can be downloaded from the following url:

http://www.gudinna.com/~prof/200310.sms.cb01.unite.centrale.de.huit.bits.(final).zip

.. i can't, however, be arsed to add it right now so it's up for grabs for all you glöp whores here at pouët. Cheers.

Zone: hah, cosmic bakery.. it's supposed to be comic bakery. Besides, it's entered as a wild not as a Master System demo.

I started writing a BASIC compiler for the Master System, but never finished it. It worked to a degree; I disassembled the output it made and it did generate valid code, but I never got around to adding statements that would actually let you set up graphics, so all I ever actually got it to do in an emulator was flash the background ;-)

A-Lee: That's because there was no MS platform when it was added. There are other demos for the MS, but they're not exactly scene demos, more like the usual WWW/IRC console dev demos.
fixed.

no one knows any other master system prod?

Why don't we merge the groups of Master System and Mega Drive / Genesis into one? At least I'd be happy about a name change of the Genesis category to "Mega Drive" or "Mega Drive / Genesis" (or with SEGA in front of the name) since the name Genesis was only used in north america (ok, half the number of consoles were sold here) and demo scene is mainly european based.
How about realizing Master System and Megadrive are so much different it doesn't make much point to merge them into one?

how about shutting up about this and merging all these thingos into one "Old gameconsoles that nobody every wrote demos for anyway" category?

I agree that a misc. console category would be a good idea. That way, we won't have MS, NES, Intellivision categories with three prods each. OTOH, we aren't exactly drowning in platform categories at the moment. I also agree that it should be called Megadrive.
if there was no distinction ppl would complain of no distinction, since there is a distinction ppl complain there is a distinction. oh well..
i'll let things as they are and let analogue handle these issues instead. :)
