demoscene on spotify ?

category: offtopic [glöplog]
gloom is right, and as I said, if a musican gets 1euro from a 15euro cd. he gets not even a fraction of a cent from when someone plays his music on spotify. And if our royaltycollectors accept spotifys horrible paychecks, its just a question of time before radio and tellie will ask themself why they need to pay to play music when spotify obviously dont. just when we started to get somewhere with youtube paying royalties etc.

so that leaves the solo option to gain your life by performing live, something ive been doing for 2 years now, and I need vacation! =)

I see a solution, and thats that spotify have to pay up or get shut down.

we are rapidly approaching the point where people stop thinking "Oh, this was good - I'll buy his CD/tracks on iTunes" and just go "Oh, this was good *adds to Spotify playlist*"

eh, what? so i must be the only one that's at the point where i say: "ah, like that tune, i'll download a torrent and get the entire highbit album for fucking free!"

No, plenty of people are there already, which is sort of the point.

I have nothing against ppl downloading and pirating music, the problem is that spotify is making zillions and artists gets 0.

but is spotify making so much profit even?
somehow i think that so far the 'profit' in spotify has been just the value of the company rising. but yeah, it doesnt seem to be the best for musicians anyway.

artists make nearly 0 on spotify :
lady gaga earned a little more than 100$ for 1 000 000 plays !
it's more than 800$ for the producer and the company, and less than 200$ for her.
so ok, spotify is "freeware" exposition...

the brand "lady gaga" consists of more than just the shemale behind the microphone. if the internal split within the brand of "lady gaga" is 80/20 - then that's an internal issue.

i think it's wrong to claim that the artists doesnt get the money they deserve when it's due to internal issues within the brand.
Then the label got 1000$ from 1 000 000 plays.
thats 0.001 cents per play wich is a really good deal in spotify means, since most of us indepedent artists have about 0.0005 cents per play.

so yes, spotify is freeware exposition. even for the label of lady gaga.

0.0005 $ or 0.0005 cents ? ;)

get rid of those cents, $, £ and € - just use kroner (as we do in denmark, sweden and norway).
so it's 100 kroner a play ;)

denmark != scandinavia. go grab your euros and let the real deal keep our kronor.

i totally agree that the country of denmark does not constitute the whole of scandinavia. however, i don't see why that is relevant.
you have more in common with germany than with sweden/norway. leave .se out of your anti-muslim crusade

Oh poor Denmark and Sweden - doesn't it hurt to know that you used to own Norway? Ba-ha! Suckers!

so. I have been looking for what demosceners DO have their music on spotify to make a playlist with just them on. So far I found dubmood, xerxes, jogeir liljedahl and moby.

anyone else? :)

I use spotify on my sellphone and buy my music for homeuse. I am a sucker for lossless so the people that put their music on bandcamp gets my star :)
