Breakpoint/Evoke/That time of year/Somewhere in Germany 64k standoff

REAL men, after flaming, go back to coding....debugging.. OH FLAMING HELL WORK YOU STUPID..
ok.. so is nobody joining us? 64k is a lonely place..

whence commeth fairlight?
meaty: i hate to point this out but there's no way im gonna spend months making a new 64k solely motivated by kicking your ass ;)
maybe if you manage to kick ours first it'd be a better motivator. :)

besides, you're 4 years late to the campfire :)
gargaj, you went to the campfire and got your ass burnt :-D
meaty: I thought your new years resolution was to stop being a dick?
Well if "64k is back" this year, how about a return to using modules instead of softsynths? One of the few really specifically 'demosceney' things that got lost over the last few years.
if modules really did make a comeback then people like meaty couldnt brag so much about how nice their pads and how many generators they can have to produce what I would describe as early mobile phone sounds.. ok, sounds good!
how about innovation instead of renovation? fuck modules!
SMF FTW
maybe there should be some sorta standard for softsynths (like XM/MOD/S3M), but with assembly describing the sounds and SMF streams describing the notes/modulation wheels/pedals/etc etc etc...

Maali: Well for a start just bolt a mixer and fx onto your module player and bus the channels out seperately. 4kb's have been doing it for years, heck DirectX has them built-in.
quintix: but midi is basically just pattern data (ergo "module"), so why bother reinventing the wheel?
4mat: i was being sarcastic about the fact you fancy 'demosceney' things that got lost. we don't do pixel art, rasterbars and interference effects in 64ks anymore either cos people moved on, i assume same can be said about modules.

Sorry for having to crash the party, but "using samples in a softsynth" has already been invented.

we don't do...
A litte presumptuous, isn't it ?
sorry for having to trash the party, but the "specifically demosceney things" are usually preventing any real innovation in the demoscene.

A little bit more patience ;)
Using certain machines with buzz?
jesus.. everyone moans about how boring 64k was last year, and it was, including our mediocre effort, so you throw down a gauntlet to sort it out, and people get personal. Did I get personal? (apart from saying gargaj's arse got burnt, which wasn't exactly calling himi a cunt). No. Miserable gits :-)
Smash, it's a year and a half since the best 64k ever got produced.. you kicked our ass before we even released anything :-P
meaty: srsly, i wish 64k would "come back" because it's probably the great sweet spot between size and freedom and there's loads of scope for innovation there.
its just that it's so much work.. :) (and everyone will moan it's not as good as heaven7 anyway)

KeyJ, go make 8-bit wonderland part II and kick MeteoriK's ass, will ya? :D
that's the spirit!
One final word.. a sequel to 8-bit wonderland would be AWESOME! DO IT KeyJ! I loved the first.
