So you admit that it looks bad, do you? ;)
To all textmode whingers: If you don't like textmode, don't watch the demos. I like textmode demos.
Wow.

I thought the whinge was just a typo...who knew it was actually a word?

I've never said otherwise. Textmode is very hard to make look good.
The color palette is over saturated and the resolution is crap.
However some people go and make it look good. Many people. Every year. Thanks to TMDC :)

via his approach, maybe =)
It all depends on the source material. Choose crap source and you get crap text.
Ture.

Well, quite obviously, I did.

1 day left, or 2 depending on your timezone. We've got some cool nifty prizes, including: 1GB MP3 Player, an EA game (of your choice), Wicked Defense 2 (from Ixchel Studios), the BBS Documentary, a DarkDomains DVD, ND pins, the diplomas.
only sad thing is that we haven't heard much from anyone. So please please please send something asap, even if it's just a "we gonna give you something" notice.
We will also extend the deadline for 1 week (19th). That means you still have time for a little scroller or a couple of ribbons :)
and also a small update in the rules: removed mandatory support for Win2K or P4 256 MB RAM. I guess it's been there for long enough :)
And Vista/Win7 support is not mandatory since they don't support textmode [in fullscreen] :P

Not much? Not even from bits?
I would throw something together, but I haven't written so much as a line in C in a long time.

So I can cheat by saying that I'm in a completely different timezone?
we'll probably get 4 or 5 BITS demo at once when the deadline is over, but that's not the point.
And you don't have to write it in C, QBASIC can probably do the job :)

nowadays most people use their own converters so it's at least as interesting as watching a bunch of different kinds of gif2ans :)
if you are ok with sth in BITS-style, i could make sth in that remaining week then, just dont think it will be any good, haha ! just to keep TMDC alive, i love textmode !
