seems like animated gifs just pause the movie for a while instead of playing, is it possible to fix that?

Well, at least the really small ones shouldn't be scaled to the frame resolution (512x384) as they are now.


I want it to be as complete as possible, so I don't think images of "poor quality" should be deleted. Same goes for images that some poeple might find offensive.


VLC has options to slow down playback. Maybe that's what you mean by "doubling frames". Anyway, I think it it's better to force people to play back the movie slower if they want to, rather than having a low frame rate and forcing them to skip frames if they want it to play back faster.

I'm in the process of doing this right now. But I'll also have to switch to an asynchronous method of downloading the image files (like URLOpenPullStream) so that I can download multiple images in parallel to save time.

@Confused: I noticed that too. I only want the first frame from animations to be included in the movie. I'm using CxImage and I'm not sure how it handles GIF anims. But I'll see if I can fix the problem.

Oh, and may I suggest MJPEG, something not oriented to motion or at least use one keyframe every frame while giving it tons of bandwidth. Sure, it will be a big file but it is a shame the blockiness of the video killing a lot of the detail, and the ability to stop the video to see what have your mind eye seen.
And besides, you can make a low quality one for those that just want the eye cancer.
