Well, it's still TheGathering, which for example is known to sponsor scene.org and holds demoscene compos.. You know how media can make a mess out of those situations ;)

It doesn't matter that this happened at The Gathering, we alll know that it happens on basically every demoparty.

Yeah it does. And comments like arneweisse suck to. It's the first one that appairs, and thats to bad really.
I did have a serious point, even if a was really tierd, really angry and just wanted to go home.
My goal by going there was to figure out what the f* a demoscene was, and to meet up with friends. That didn't happend, but hopefully i get to make up for that at Dreamhack, beeing where i put my time and money next time.
(Yea and my english suck when im in a state like that, i did apologize for that thank you sprocket, no reason to make a point out of that. )

I mean, if you enter a LAN party like TG/Dreamhack you can EXPECT this stuff to happen, as the gamers there doesnt go there because they have choosen to but because they are morons who usually has no friends at all.
I saw lots of girls at BP and i dont think anyone took any offcense of the crowd , perhaps some individual morons but you will meet this at the local pub anyways :)
Still, going on ranting like this make you look like a fool, you shouldnt judge 3000 visitors by an entry made by 3-4 people, if so Hitler and all the other nationalsocialists are correct. If you had written a serious post and not like you did maybe people would care, now only complete morons has replied here except for me.

I'd expect nothing different from Arnweisse.
The computer scene has always been a male-dominated environment, and I'd guess around 30-40% of these males are sex-starved geeks with no dignity to lose, who learn about women via porn and are so cut off from reality they literally don't know how to behave in a social environment, especially among real, living and breathing women.
But a lot of sceners are good and harmless people with a creative interest.

Sure the scene is male-dominated (Also it was a LAN-Party which has nothing to do with a pure demoscene-party).
But such things are just SICK!
Everyone in the scene talks about friendship being the most important thing, but sadly there are always some idiots thinking such things could be funny.
And Wade got it right: The scene shouldn't be judged of what some idiotic minority does.
But sadly when the press gets interested they just show such negative things.
Let's just all try to prevent such things happening again and show the public that SUCH things have nothing to do with the demoscene.
