xdk on Windows7?

category: general [glöplog]

I'm about to get a new machine here and still in the process of chosing the OS. One thing I know for sure is that I don't want to install Vista and I'm also not sure if I want to install the good old XP. If everything runs well on Windows7 I really would like to give this one a shot I think, but:

I'm also slowly trying to learn C++ at the moment and I would love to do something on the classic Xbox sooner or later and I just want to know if anyone knows if VisualC++2003 and the XDK can be used on Windows7?

VS2003 shouldn't be a problem at least, as even VS6 can run on that OS. Dunno about the latter.

OK. Thanks for the infos. Well, I still can run an XP in a VM when I'll experience any problems.

C#, MC++ (or any .net, for the matter) on VS2k8 works wonderfully... dunno about non-managed C++ though

@Jcl: Thanks. I just know that the XDK doesn't install correctly on VC++ Versions above 2003, so I have to use this rather old version.

I don't have any problems with vc++ 2008 on win7.
The only problem is that most 4ks don't work :(
