i do not like solo, but for the rest i totally agree with optimus. solo's reviews are quite helpful in terms of demo content. and his demos are bad but who cares, it's not like he's posting inappropriate pictures or trolling other people.

at the same time, i do not think that this compo is a bad idea.

And Solo shouldn't complain. Parody is the highest form of flattery. Goddamn man, you churn out piles of shit and actually get a whole COMPO dedicated to you!! The only person who had that happen before is super famous superstar Rob / Aardbei!

I did also want to clarify that another reason for cancelling the competition was because I didn't want the party to be defined by the BITS competition. An abundance of BITS releases would really make it look stupid.

I will consider a Fast Compo though, so... we'll see what happens with that.

Concerning BITS...don't feed the troll. Best would be just to ignore all this crap. Easy as that.

Sadly no videostream this year - cos we probably have 2-3mbits for the entire hall. Unless a lot of people bring along USB 3G modems!

I don't mind m0d setting up an audio stream this year...

I don't know if Solo is a troll or not, but I also don't like the idea of a comp to mock some individual. Even if there's 1% chance he's a real guy who is just misguided, then it's not worth it.

I don't think that the idea of the compo was to mock Solo. It was just a bit of fun, giving people a chance to try something a bit different by making "BITS-style" demos. Things seem to have gotten a bit out of hand in this thread..

Even though the "discussion" is already over, I'd like to state that I'm in total agreement with Preacher on this one.
