Feature suggestion - upcoming parties
category: general [glöplog]
nutman, skrebbel, doom: we're using this feed - as you can see, its completely impartial. what's on demoparty.net's main page should be consulted with Poti.
gargaj: good oportunity to let users bind a new database field to party editions (similar to results and slengpung) imho. would be nice to have a demoparty.net link on party.php ;) 2 cents
and actually demoparty.net already has pouet.net party edition id on their database, maybe it can be automated by asking poti to add a field on the rss feed with this info

thanx kurli / gargaj !!
very nice feature ! ( as theres some space on the right anyway if one has an ATT=50 - setup ! )
also thanx to poti ofcoz for providing party-infos ! good job there !
however: just having to click a party at our favourite site to get to the corresponding page at demoparty.net just rulez !
the suggestion of adding the invit into the box isnt bad, but would bloat it a bit, eh ?!
alltho i have no idea of what RSS and all this inet-code is capable of, putting a link into RSS-feed should be possible, or not ?! ( or maybe just the pouet-prod-id ;) )

can i have a feature request too, kurli?
working version of c1alis? :P
working version of c1alis? :P
Would actually be pretty neat if it showed the date too :-)
checkbox with tinnitus on/off then too! :P
gargaj, soz, i got that - the comment was intended for poti more. the topic was raised and i figured he might actually read this particular thread. good work!
;)
Yupyup, thanks for the feed inclusion.
I agree with nutman/skrebbel/etc on the what's on the front page at demoparty.net, though.
For Syntax, cTrix isn't going to direct people to demoparty.net just to say that they are coming to the party - he has his own signup form that collects more information than just a visitor count.. it collects travel distance/hardware/possible entries/etc... All stuff that's good for making sure everything runs smoothly and could even flag visitors who eg. could share a taxi from the airport, etc. Sure, people don't have to fill it all in.
At the moment there's enough signups to say it'll be the biggest Syntax ever ...
Still, demoparty.net is good. Thanks for making it.

would it be possibly to somehow combine the registrations that parties have with demoparty.net registrations, so that when you sign up with possibly more info to the party's own site you could add yourself to demoparty.net too?
demoparty.net uses sceneid, so if the parties would ask their visitors sceneid on registration, the thing could get automated somehow.. ask poti for an interface. he might be abit busy these days though, so i've heard :D
yyyyyeah, the idea is nice but i dont think people who dont have sceneid (yes, there are) can be arsed to do an extra step when signing up for a party.
Gargaj: Unless the partynet also uses sceneID for voting/entry uploads ... ie. partymeister with sceneID.
Not exactly straight forward.... doubt it'll happen ;)

Ok, just to mix up things together...
It would be lovely to have this:
links:
- pouet's list of parties linked with demoparty's list of parties
- pouet's list of parties linked to slengpung list of parties
- slengpung id on pouet's config
- demoparty id on pouet's config
features:
- can see the pics of pouet's user (in slengpung)
- can see the parties a user has been/is going
- from the party page navigate to can go to pics of the party, have a list of people present in demoparty or spotted in slengpung, and links to those sites
- other :)
I know, it's a bitch, but let me dream :))
(I'd start by adding the two IDs to pouet's config page, letting users declare their ID and then, maybe, doing something out of it)

Ehr... of course slengpung ID is already there!
ah. i heard my name somewhere...
there actually is a possibility to add the demoparty.net registration to other party websites. afair it was used some years ago for kindergarden. actually for most parties this just does not make sense as they probably have their own system.
but: cool that pouet lists upcoming parties now :)

Nice :)
apparently the upcoming parties go away from the list when the part starts. i think it would maybe be better to keep then there until the party ends.
