category: general [glöplog]
I would like to know if any modo users spreads around and if yes, if exist here, how is their impressions, experiences with this 3d application and if you do in modo something special
tried modo, nice modeling/texturing features, cool renderer
on the other side it was crashing every two minutes.

Silo is nicer. Modo is unecessarily complex + buggy
ofcourse, thats "imo". many ppl seem to like Modo :)
For anything without overly complex animation setups, modo is really nice. It's my main 3d tool for modeling and texturing for a while now. Some of its features are quite unique. And the renderer absolutely rocks.
To cure frequent crashes sometimes it can be helpful to delete/rename the MODOxxx.CFG file (xxx being the version number) in the Luxology settings folder (AppData/Documents and Settings on Win). Tends to get slaggy after a while or dirty with misconfigured stuff. If modo can't find the file, it creates a clean new one.

Just last week some guys tried to sold me to the whole luxology thing, measuring my 'photons' with luxmeters and trying to sell me some self-enlightement books. I think they're just scammers, so watch out!
3.2 runs stable here.
4.1 is out since a week but i would avoid it until it got fixed.
best modeling package around, fast renderer
