I became aware of this contest when Microsoft gave a conference at my University.

I just wonder if some have considered entering the Rendering contest of Imagine Cup to show off their skills. I hope Farbrausch enters. If I ever enter, I will lose 30% right off the bat because I dont know dx9, hehe.
The money prizes are nice though.

Heh.. microsoft made a big fuss about this imagine cup at my university too... giving away free cd:s with visual studio. Too bad visual studio was packed in a self-extracting zip-file with a broken file (some bitmap).... this didn't really help convince the harcode unix h4xx0rs populating the CS program that microsoft rules ;)

well i see the whole microsoft problem in this case this way: it's THEIR money... if they are so eager to part with it, why not help them out? ;) i think if we would use dx, i'd prolly discuss this with the rest of cns... well, maybe next year :)

I don't really see what is wrong with making good and usable operating systems, applications and development environments and making money off that.
