STFUP "artists". Coding is the only true art in the demoscene

I just love how wannabe artists call their piece of crap "art" to gain some kind of respect from the ones who are truly ITK of the demoscene. I also love how the real artists, the coders let them do so because they have more serious stuff to attend to.
Everyone who has coded software both for corporates and for the demoscene knows how artful their demoscene code is. When it works its the most amazing piece of art, even when it runs in 3 fps and is labeled replay, because it was done without UML or copied algorithms from some patent.
Well except those lame landscape 4ks of course.

Software patents are absurd. You can't patent a piece of code. And in fact in EU it is not allowed to create software patents, it is allowed only in USA.
Also, what is bad in using a well proven mathematical algorithm? Why is art considered to be art only when it is 100% original? I mean, if you are a painter or a writer or a musician does it mean you can't use tricks and plots and ways to do things found by other people? How come?

Haven't it occurred to you that they may call it art because they really believe it is (and tried their best) and not to gain respect? No, of course not. It hasn't occurred to you. You have it all sorted out. You know who the true artists are. You are, in your mind probably, the only true demoscener in the world anyway - who are we to argue.
