No, that's not a "beers-are-better-than-girls" thread. As I'll prolly be at BP with Leviathan, and we appreciate the finer things in life (that's Abaye beers and saucages), I want to ask those that live in Bingen or know the premises, if there are beer places around that serve quality beer and food.
Also, are these brands available in Bingen? (Sorry, none of them is German).. LaTrappe, Chimay, Vondel, LaGoudale, Gouden Carolus, Kwak, Samichlaus.
Up to now, Ithaqua is joining us for serious beer drinking.. anybody else? (Heinneken consumers are not an option here =)

i see you weren't at last breakpoint.
first, the partyplace is quite a distance from any place where people live. however a bus goes up and down into bingen for supermarket stuff. you could of course use that for going into bars but it's much nicer drinking your fine pilseners with the other sceners are the partyplace, right? so, german supermarkets have tons of different beers, but generally not many foreign brands.
secondly, you two won't be the only proper beer drinkers at breakpoint, there'll be plenty. german sausages kick, btw. (i strongly advise a brand called JA! for a delicious allround solution. yes, they have ketchup too. sadly no JA! beer or JA! instant barbecues seem to exist)
since it looks like you're not all to german, and it seems nearly all those beers you're requesting are belgian, i'd like to give you this little piece of advice: try some german beer for a change. there are plenty german sceners at breakpoint who you can drag into the supermarket with you who can tell you which are the finer brands. some people seem not to know that not all german beers taste like bitburger (or heineken, for that matter). actually, to my own (rather limited) experience, nearly no german beer tastes like bitburger (thank god). however, last breakpoint, bitburger was the only beer they sold at the partyplace, and german supermarkets tend to close at sundays. so be sure to buy plenty at saturday.
if you really can't live without the brands you mentioned, ask some of the (max. 5) belgian sceners that shall attend to bring some along. also, even though i'm not belgian, i'm willing to trade some la trappe or kwak or such for proper greek beer that you'd bring along.

de negerzoenen zijn wel lekker trouwens
Actually, LaTrappe is Dutch, Chimay Kwak, and Vondel are Belgian, LaGoudale is French, Samichlaus is Austrian and I don't know Gouden Carolus' origin.
We get loads of import beers here in Greece, so I've tried German beers.. They are of course far better than Heineken, and my Heineken pun was not intended to insult german beers, but people who can't taste beyond a lager =)
Oh.. and IIRC Heineken is dutch also..
I could bring those brands with me, but I bet they'll vanish in a jiffy by those who also appreciate the finer things in life ehehehehe =)
So, I guess we'll get saucages and grill them in the bonfire ehehehehe... 64k saucages, wild saucages.. all the saucages..
Btw, you don't want to try Greek beer. It's on par with all lagers that go around (Heinneken, amstel etc..). The only half-decent greek beer (Fix) is not what it used to be long ago anymore. BUT.. we can always bring ouzo with us.. and ouzo kicks ass.. but take heed as getting drunk with ouzo is the worst kind of getting drunk..

Isnt Mythos(spelling?) a greek beer?
Yup, it is a greek beer (spelled correctly), but it's no better than Heineken =).. just a bit more bitter.
PegasuS: I am curious... Is Mythos being exported outside of Greece or you just happened to drink some on a visit to Greece?
PegasuS probably happened to drink some during a visit to greece, as every beer lover would ;)
WOW! JA! beer exists!?? wee :D
ok i'll draw back my proposal for beer exchanges and shall only drink JA! beer at breakpoint! (i admit i generally do care about taste, but if a label says JA! i tend to get rather tolerant)
btw, of course heineken is dutch. did anyone suggest otherwise? why're you bringing up heineken every time anyway? there probably won't be any heineken at breakpoint anyway :)
(oh and gouden carolus is prolly belgian. it's so stupid that no sane dutcho would call his beer that, yet it means something in dutch. hence, flemish.)

sir richard, i'll bring some Sloeber, Piraat and Lamme Goedzak to breakpoint, talk about fucked up beernames :)
and heineken is crap!
and heineken is crap!
Gammawave: Hehe.. but yes, I did acctaully taste it.. its very light and does taste more like water than beer... but it still had this lil taste of old-urin that all beers have....
parties should of course have bad quality beer.
That way, if forces most people out of the hall to find a bar or supermarket, and only the true sceners who refuse to leave their computers and go out in the sun will remain.

psonice: you coming to bp? :)
gargaj: unfortunately, no :( I was thinking to, but transport from my place to bp is shit, also around that time i will by a new car so money is tight. Assembly seems bad for transport too. But its still a major aim to visit a party this year :)
talking about fucked up names: what about some öufi or some häxli beer? :) (both swiss)
Amusic coming to BP? Great news!
I will bring the Ouzo's as usual =)
