i think brainstorm is doing it absolutely right. this kind of boasting self-promotion was always an element of the scene before the, let's say, late 1990s, and i like it! beamslides, stickers, banners all over the place! i wish more groups (which CAN actually back it up with good productions, like BRS) would do it.

We cant put stickers on a floppy anymore or on our diskbox
or hand out a4 papers to promote a party or to get votes
Or tag your name on a floppy disk or later on a cd
or after the democompo give floppy's away for free to spread your demo.

Who needs banners on a wall when you just deliver a slide to the beamteam

We live in a digital age where more and more we go to a 'paper-free'
way of life. So most PR has become digital aswell

I THINK YOU BETTER SHUT YOUR ASS!!!
you dont even go to demoparties, magic, so spare me your sideline rambling...
what a moronic comment from magic once again. it's not even true. of course one still can do paper promotion very effectively. but what to expect from someone who never has been to a party in ~15 years?

dipswitch, paper promotion is for losers, real men use plastic+metal promotion.

so ok.. i got the answer from maali i was looking for.. and skrebbel. i understand your arguments, but i have no idea why it upsets you so much. if you guys had any idea the amount of work and money we had to put in just to do the concert - i think you would have been fine with us having a concert marketing banner. we paid for bendiks flight, his hotel room, his food and drinks etc etc.. in hope we could entertain some of you at BP (obviously not everyone likes our gigs, but i think even if we got britney spears to perform . som ppl would complain HEHE)..

anyhow, it just felt like a slap in the face that you, and skrebbel feels this way. but i do understand as you formulated it nicely. next time you feel the urge to bash someone, take it up with us face to face.. we were together for four days.. no need to wait until the fifth day to mock us on pouet.

that made me try to imagine a plastic+metalvotze coop demo and i imagined the best turd-shaders ever!
Dipswitch: what you are saying is not true at all. know your facts before you reply on the person.

that i don't really understand
xerxes: dude, nothing against your concert.. i was even in the crowd enjoying it cos i had to hear and see some of romeo knight's awesome guitarplay! ;)

next to that it doesn't upset me but it seems to upset you that i pointed out a feeling that assumingly more sceners experience when it comes to BRS publicity stuff, so sorry for that. i just wanted to subtile "warn" you about potential negative side effects that arise but now that you started a whole thread about it, it turned into a discussion ;)
Maali is the caretaker of the demoscene.

yeh im taking up where gloom stopped ;)
maali, well.. maybe it is a good discussion to have? should scene groups not be allowed to promote things they do? does everyone have to be lowkey.. or god forbid - try to be cool? (the average age in BRS is 33 or something, so being cool is too late for us anyhow). in my opinion, if farbraush had a new demo coming up, they should be allowed to have a sneak banner for it.. sort of to build exitment for the production. personally i would enjoy that...

xrs: I doubt it's the concert marketing banner they worry about..?
