maali: the whole brainstorm-marketing machine is becoming more a circlejerking nuisance than what it's intending to do, so please!
could you please not just spew out some bullship without explaining the reasoning behind it? i dont care that you dont like our productions or concerts as you ofcourse are entitled to your own opinion, but this one i take persoanlly. i met you at breakpoint and you seemed like a pretty cool guy, therefore i am kind of surprised you would attack us like that. so whats up?

argh! truly, when even hugi manages to a do more appealing headlinetro, one has to start worrying! and nothing personal, but next to that the whole brainstorm-marketing machine is becoming more a circlejerking nuisance than what it's intending to do, so please! piggy cos i still <3 the CNS guys ;)

omg teh drama!
it's the gayness, be merciful
xrs, on my personal behalf, but i think maali has similar ideas:
i really like all the brs guys i know, but the "omg, we're so awesome" department was a bit too present at breakpoint. i mean, three different beamslides in the ad rotation just to show that you're present at a demoparty, isn't that a bit over the top? other people just do this by talking to people, or in rare cases by puking over the infodesk.
i feel like the slickness and the "we'd poke you in your sleep just to tell you that we're around" attitude is getting a bit over the top - i mean, can't the same marketing department focus on more cool prods instead? you're a big group..

i suppose he means that while any brainstorm member one meets privately seems to be rather sociable and cool, the massive marketing methodology they collectively employ sometimes makes them look more arrogant than nice people like they actually are deserve to.
I smell the return of fucktros...
Any group with such a high concentration of musicians is bound to have bigger egos, aren't they?
*poke!* ;)
*poke!* ;)
I sooooo want to do a fucktro - makes me want to learn to code "real" demoscene-stuff :)
xrs: I guess maali is one of those pouet babblers, that is actually a pretty normal guy irl after all ;)
I see your point though, as I got triggered by a similar comment the other day.

Puryx: Look here to see how a good fucktro should look like. :D
xerxes: as i said it's not personally targeted to any of the brainstorm members per se and yes i'm a normal person and yes, we had a great time boozing together so don't take it personally it's not that i hate YOU or any of the BRS members i meet frequently.
but skrebbel pretty much summed it up. the 3 beamslides and the apparent eagerness to be omnipresent makes BRS look silly, that's all. and i posted it in the thread to that particular production as watching a 4 minutes long one-effect headlinetro during a democompo kinda sucks and felt out of place in my eyes. it was an excellent occassion to take a leak tho!

yeah. i agree. it's over the top and the critisism is well deserved. the thing is that parties used to have banners all over the walls back in the days. this year at bp there was one (?). the slides on the big screen were supposed to be something instead of banners and not intended as "omg, we're so awesome" (and trust me, that's far from the image we're aiming for). but i can definitely see your point. and one would have been enough.

well... first of all, the headlines were not supposed to be released at bp at all. due to the current schedule (and the fact that we didn't manage to release it before bp) there was basicly no other good option. secondly, the prod was supposed to be shown before the actual demo compo but since they wanted to do that major farting joke upstairs, it wasn't. i can see you point regarding this one as well but the prod ended up far from last so i guess the opinion varies. and it's not like it was the only one effect demo shown :)
i guess the biggest cause for concern is that it was one of the best demos shown
But Maali had exposure every time a scene award was handed out!!!!
OUTRAGE!!!!!111
Oh, and I like Brainstorm. I didn't really pay much attention to the bigscreen.
