my first thought on the look of the compomachine was 'it's a diesel engine'. second thought was 'maybe it's electronic but it surely does run on diesel fuel'.

the main point about the image was actually the custom-soldered extra power plug (look closely at the marked area, we have 3 power cables for 2 power plugs on the graphics card :)).

it reminds me of the good old Silicon Graphics Inc (SGI) days, where we had lot's of video cards on the same system, and the wonderful "compositor" box. the pc is the new sgi.

numtek: because the graphics card needs 1x 8-pin and 1x 6-pin extra power plug, the psu only provides a bunch of 6-pin plugs, and 6-pin=>8-pin adapter cables are quite hard to find (and not exactly within specs either).

kurli: the extra pins are 2x GND. should, in theory, be pretty safe. :)

also, timetable updated. pc 64k deadline back to sunday 10:00, pc 64k compo at sunday 17:00 (followed by 96k game), and wolverine contest deadline is at sunday 13:00 with the compo at sunday 21:00.

quick question for the orgas: will there be a decent scanner available for use? need to finish my handdrawn entry at the partyplace. i reckon others will have same need aswell. ii understand you're all very busy with shitloads of these small details but if someone could look into having this easily available for the handdrawn deadline, would be nice to avoid having to roam the partyplace looking for someone who brought their own highquality scanner.

ps: thanks for the heads-up, we'll make sure to have a proper scanner here.

now this is probably a difficult request - but is it at all possible that someone has a pretty high end pc they might be able to let us use during the party for some time ? :) our demo seriously needs more power than our laptops can provide, so it would really help if we had another box to do some work on too... :)
