has anyone seen that service live at GDC ? i'm really dubious about it being not laggy on any average broadband connection... i guess it targets fiber/FTTH subscribers.

and have they developed emulators of current nextgen consoles for their servers ??
stupid me, they 'stream' only PC games.

i never thought zombies are a feature :D
4k version, plz
That looks nice'ish. It's interesting to know that some graphical effects are done on the CPU.
SPU.
That's a CPU to me.
DSP.
that's a PSP to me.
why are naked zombies asexual ?
looks boring. one hard shadow zombie ... wtf? with glow .... wtf?
Glow goes well with everything.
the point i have to make is - its a tech demo showing deferred lighting and volumetrics performed on the spu (saving a massive amount of gpu time in the process), the graphics are just to show something better than the usual boxes and toriii. :) (and there were 100 point lights, 3 shadowcasting lights, it ran always at 60hz or better at full 720p and had 2x msaa on. if you work on ps3 you might think thats something interesting. :) )
.......and.....we got a zombie!
smash, I heard a rumour you don't even work at sony (a 15 year old boy told me)
cool. Does this mean that the gpu is idling almost completely, or are there stuff you´re not telling us? :) That has to be the best optimizing in a long time.
hyde: the gpu does the geometry rendering :) it gives a pretty even split of work between gpu and spu.
smash: Any chance to get hold of your GDC slides? :-)
hyde: the spus are really, really good at number crunching. a 3.2GHz cpu with 128 registers, a pretty complete set of vector instructions and single-cycle memory access is not to be underestimated :)
...and you have six of them, not just one. :)
too bad you can't use the RSX without an official kit :(
