Hermes: "simple" recording equipment won't be a problem, we've got enough organizers who own some video stuff.

Still, dear RealWild participants - It would really help if you somehow manage to get a recording of your demo for yourself, now more than ever. We might not have those wonderous devices that allowed us to record anything that outputs some kind of video signal. Plain PAL or NTSC will work tho (but be aware that eg, a C64, Amiga, Atari VCS or PlayStation 1 doesn't output PAL/NTSC but something only slightly resembling and therefore unsuitable for consumer grade recording equipment). Of course this still means we want binaries and a proof that the thing runs on the actual hardware.

kb: I mostly had those weird led-type-a-kind installations in mind ;) but yea ppl, record that stuff yourselves beforehand.

Agreed, but if the deal is that artists are compensated for flights, accommodation and food, you'd get all of them with the price of PPOT since they don't need rented instruments either. And i'd see any of the above mentioned rather than ppot (no offense) :)

Yeah but PPOT isn't booked for this year. This year the budget is in a progress bar all over the internet and clearly shows there's no money for live acts (at least yet) unless they get them for free :)

Hm. I know the elements on the progressbar and their order is not really up for external discussion, but.. I must say that I really believe having the streaming is way more important then competition prizes for a whole lot of people.

As in: the streaming is important for a whole lot of people. Bad sentence-building there, sorry.

that might be, but things being as they are, we think the party experience for people who can come is far more important than streaming for those who can't.

dtv can probably do the gig. but they haven't finished their realtime genereation report yet, why are they so fucking slow?

ryg: Oh I'm not arguing about that at all -- of course the party experience should be the best for the people who attend, but I'm just not sure how compo prizes fit into that. I mean, seeing as the party streaming is listed as a 2k value, I think it should be moved in front of the compo prizes. :)

Local party experience as good as it can get --> Party streaming --> Everything else goes to prizes.

anyone who enters compo for the prizes, and not for dick measuring should quit the scene.

they didn´t manage to pull off the long_before_announced tUM-Stream already. ( which was my only hope while i had to stay in bed due to a bad flue, already in deepest anticipation what would happen in the 4k-compo...where we made the first place in the end...i couldn´t attend the party (my first 1st-place ever) PLUS had no stream. !whining )

so i would put my bet on DTV-BP-Stream = FALSE;

but my point is: A Stream of a Party is worth it, some people watching the Stream can feel whats going on over there and feel bad about not having experienced all that afterwards...so they´ll visit the next one !

plus what i said above: some ppl cant attend no matter how hard they want to !
And BP is THE party every1 wants to be part of ( in some way or another... )

BTW: I´ll be there, if i won´t get thrown out or beaten up/get arrested before the real party ( ==outside ) starts ;)
