well, tighten-up. make the shift from an open free-form portal, to one which is more rigidly controlled and monitored and has standards. Users will soon learn.
it's not difficult to discourage banal random posts and threads. you just have to apply the expectation across the board; to ALL users at all times - with no exception. (ie: no allowances for people who are known productive "contributors")

you may be more skilled and productive than me demowise speaking, but you are still closed-minded people who can't bear different views. you label them as 'offensive' and lay down a barrage at the 'offensors'.
i've tried to kickstart some debates about how most demosceners have hypocritically denied their roots (yeah cracktros), and how the demoscene could innovate, not compulsory on the strict visual frontside but also in its own definition by exploring various inputs, various collaborative schemes, new creative constraints, new inspiration grounds. compos and awards could evolve too in order to match brandnew technical feats and even bad taste.
most threads i've started were demo-relevant in that field of vision, but appparently yours are narrower. oh yeah i'm the one supposed to repeatedly derail and post 'offensive' off-topic content. then next time you want to post any funny not demo-relevant content, any random pic or simply joke with your friends, ask yourselves which superior right gives you this impunity.
and SERIOUSLY, since when do we need to prove some big demo on our resume to be able to speak up on pouet ?? and if i didn't want you to know which cracktros and wild i've made, that's my own choice.
you may consider yourselves smart folks, but your online behavior isn't smarter than a lynching mob, i've witnessed and reported it too many times. i don't mind being your unlucky guinea pig if that makes words go ahead, i don't mind if i can't post new threads anymore, but i deeply hate when i can't reply to all your dishonest attacks, especially in a 1 vs all flamewar. that's so honourable from you.
i've come to the conclusion that you don't care if pouet has become the private community of a few people who know each others in real life, while moving away all the newbies, online-only people and far-foreign communities.
