Heaven 7, High-Res HD (TM)

category: general [glöplog]

ladies and gentlemen :)

i found a better host for the intro :)

exceed.hu/h7

look for the holiday special edition :)

helloworld, i removed your signature from the resolutions - because it looked like a hack - but you got credits in the file_id and the infofile.
is it fair?

I managed to find time to create a version that supports different aspect ratios (4:3, 5:4, 16:9, 16:10) and resolutions. You can find it here.
Next one comes with an NFO file. sry.

Fucking excellent work! Runs pretty decent at 1920x1200 :)

stephen,

No problem at all, it is fair :)
Credits in the info are very nice, and rare's implication motivated me to get something working! :)
I agree that my work is barely 1/1000000th of the work Exceed put in the intro, and it's not mine to start with, so the signature was maybe inappropriate :)

i'm glad you re-did a webpage for this "holiday edition"!
this will (hopefully) give h7 a second youth :)

i'd much rather see exceed have a second youth ;P

hey gargaj, is it possible to link the new site and the holiday edition directly from the product page?

i think rare's version is more general, so we have a brand new holiday edition :)

HeLLoWorld, rare:
i'd like to say 'thank you' both of you guys!
i'm really glad that you made heaven seven enjoyable again, nine years after it's original debut.

i hope this community will also greet your contribution :)

ps:
if you could manage to extend the texture resolution too, then i think we could arrange a breakpoint special edition also :)

btw, if you take the heaven7w-holiday.exe depack it with upx and repack it with kkrunchy its size becomes 60416 bytes. so it is possible to have this version within the 64k boundary. props to ryg.

just so you know.

btw, if you take the heaven7w-holiday.exe depack it with upx and repack it with upx --lzma its size becomes 63488 bytes. so even with upx it would have been possible to have this version within the 64k boundary ;-)

I have just seen this at 1280x800... I just realized that I didn't even realize half of the details that Heaven 7 has! Amazing!

Ubuntu! wine i presume? great!
I think H7 should be shown at BP09 in Actual Size HD as a special. It deserves that.
added on the 2009-01-07 20:19:09 by Fei Fei
yeah, it's good now. but we still need to hack texture resolution otherwise showning it at BP09 is nonsense :(

l1nk, you heard (actually: read) the guys :)
i think it's possible to upgrade that feature, too :)
added on the 2009-01-08 00:39:20 by stephen stephen
yes :) but I intend that h7 cann't be shown at BP09 till someone hack that feature) technically it can but..... (=

PS i'm sorry for my poor english) maybe it caused this small incomprehension (=

Wow, nice work! Lots of detail.

Slight bug, though; when viewed at certain resolutions (at least 1680x1050) the 2D images that are overlaid aren't drawn properly, resulting in odd diagonal swathes - http://i39.tinypic.com/2m6s86a.jpg. Works fine in most other resolutions. Some sort of image/buffer-stride-is-not-same-as-image-width issue?
