ok, just watched through it... nice report .. until the end ? !! wtf, is this really a dying culture ? no "young" folks following the demoscene traditions ? come on, while the scene may not be expanding like the number of people who have PCs back home, it is still thriving, isn't it ?!!

At Realtime Generation, kb_ said in the panel discussion that he made the observation that younger people interested in computers code less than older ones. Without code, no demos, obviously.

Why do younger people code less? Probably it's the fault of Microsoft for not including a free Basic interpreter with their operating systems any more. Or what do you think?

no, young coders are these days busy coding either their own kernel based on some random GNU shit from sourceforge OR they are busy coding a WoW clone MMORPG based on Ogre!

There are no anglicisms for computer stuff in the German language. You are freaking Icelandic in that area!

One thing was missing from that report (or I missed it): There was no info that everyone can download the demos for free and watch it on his/hers computer.
