Back then it was already a 80486. I got my first computer when I entered elementary school. It was a C64. With it I learned BASIC. Then came an Amiga 500 and shortly after a 80286. Back then things weren't as simple as they are today.

Oh? did you use DirectX back then? Did you use something called "DOS"? I have heard a lot about it, quite amazing really.

DOS, yes. Since we had only little RAM I decided to learn Assembler.

What is an assembler? Isn't that something used in factories?

No. With Assembler you can program machine code. This way you can save a lot of memory. The computers back then were not as fast as today, either. Nowadays you have to care less about memory and speed.

Hmm, interesting. I am thinking about programming a bit myself but I have really no idea where to start. Any advice?
